The Tron Look

I am trying to find a way to recreate the way people (programs) look like in tron!

I stumbled over this tonight while at work

You could probably achieve the same effect in Photoshop using layers and filters and this same technique.

Actually, you can. The same tutorial Polykarbon used to make laser blasts and lightsabers work well in creating the Tron glow.

I think this popped up in the forum before. For motion shots I think this may be the way to go. You could set up a photoshop action set and run it on a folder of still frames also, if you could get the auto-selections consistant enough.

It's funny I've had that link burried in my bookmarks for a couple years now, since I made my Tron Hallow costume. I just rediscovered it a couple of days.

For video the concept would be the same, but take it from someone who has done tons of lightsabers in the past... It's a LOT more work to do video, because you have to move that 'garbage matte' they mention around in EACH frame so it matches the movements of the object in question...
