Gridbug-model

on Sunday, March, 19, 2006 9:12 AM
Hi there!

As a short break from the other models, i tried an easier one.
Pretty easy to model, but hardly to keep under control
Beware and watch your firewalls!!!

Ooh, yummy. Very nice model there, Cueball!

Looks very true to the original movie gridbug.

Not the sort of thing you want to see in the middle of the road under a full moon...

I like how you've made it! It comes across well in 3D despite the fact that they were conventionally animated in the film.

Looks great. Is this something you could animate easily?

Hi!

Yes, animation is possible to setup,
just a matter of some extra-work.

Ill study the gridbug-sequence a bit

These are great, Cueball!

The first one looks like it could have come from the film itself. Very nice work!

All this great artwork is making my head spin . . .

This isn't happening, it only thinks it's happening. (i.e. It's too good to be true!)

Looks great! I made a gridbug model about a year and a half ago in maya when I was learning it a little. Never made any textures or anything. I should have uploaded it to the file archive incase anyone wanted to play with it, but I never did.

This would be really cool to see animated! I'd be willing to add some sound effects to a short animation if you'd like, might be fun. I've got official tron sound design experience too, so I won't mess it up. (I hope)

Hi!

Yeah, i planned to do a animation, but ive got some other models to finish first
I already got some ideas and just need to do some small changes of the model,
like setting morphs for the head support and to change the lenghts of the legs during the animation.
Nothing too hard, but like Todd wrote, there are not enough micro-cycles in a day....

Interesting, might I inquire as to what qualifies as "official" TRON sound design experience?

Just curious,

Well, I'm a little reluctant to admit it, considering all the um... love... that it's gotten here... but yeah I worked on killer app for the xbox and some of that included sound design for the multiplayer weapons we added. No hate mails please

The xbox version had some bugs, seems like it made people unhappy, rightfully so. But, let's not get off the topic of the thread.

PrinceAuron, I'm not exactly sure what they are but "if those grid bugs get us, we've had it."
They had a short spot in the film, and were hand drawn. Cueball seems to have made a very accurate 3d model and rendered scene that looks like it's right out of the movie.
