Think about it--"V" was probably the first network big-budget sci-fi miniseries! I think it was an extremely outside-of-the-box thing for a network to give the green light to, and am I ever glad they did. It was so frikin' cool!

It was probably the one of the few times that a huge audience of non-sci-fi fans felt compelled to sit down and watch some good sci-fi.

Remember the parallel they drew between the aliens and the Nazis? That really made you realize that these aliens did not come in peace.

And think about this--it was so widely well-received that they made a sequel miniseries! It's almost totally mind-blowing!

Remember how Diana read the Bible and came away with a decidedly unique perspective on its teachings? I thought that was so original. It might not have been, but I had never seen that before so it was very off-the-wall to me.

Okay, so the weekly series sucked. I'm guessing the usual gang of idiot bean counters finally escaped whatever closet NBC locked them in while the miniseries were being made and they finally got their clammy hands on the series budget.

I for one used to have long hair for a very long time and have recently started cutting it quite short (about a little above chin length which is pretty short for me) and I can think of a few reasons why long hair can suck:

1. Drying time: Steping out of the shower and then realizing that you'd have to sit with the hairdryer on for more than 30 minutes is NOT a good thing.

2. People tie it to stuff: It's true. People LIKED tying my hair to various objects. Also NOT pleasent.

3. Mass tanglation: Yes. Much dreaded when it comes to waking up or when it comes to standing anywhere with copious amounts of wind. Those are the times that you wish that you can shave your head and be free of the much horrifying mess.

4. Gum: Long hair and gum NEVER mix. Tape also has the same dreaded effect.

5. People hide stuff: Just when you think it can't get any worse, people can actually hide things in there like pieces of paper with secret notes and so forth. Itchy and horrible!

6. People's obessive need to play with it: People have this strange fasination with long hair that I cannot fully explain. People (being the strange creatures they are) cannot resist playing with it. It's like it has a strong magnetic force which draws the hair players to the hair playee and drive the playees insane if excessive playing is involved. So not a great thing at all. Especially if you are a member of the male gender who is probably not expecting a certain degree of physical violence from the opposite gender which includes but not limited to: Slapping, kicking, flicking and sporking.

So this is why long hair sucks and let this be a lesson to anyone who really wants long hair: Don't do it. Think of the children! The children!

Thanks but I think I've got stuff managed it the "I'll beat you up and shove horrible and nasty things down your throat if you do much unwanted stuff with my hair" department. ^^; Anyways, I think I'm going to be keeping it short for a long time. There's just so many advantages that comes with it.
