The thing that totally makes me crack up is how the cops are HELL bent on getting your ass when they are chasing you while you're on a mission. They send the helicopters, lay the spikey things to blow you tires... etc.
When the mission ends though, they come to a screeching halt and then sort of mill around... and then get in their cars and peel off. That always makes me chuckle.

In GTA:SA, I had a wanted level of one star and I was on a bicycle. I was riding around in a small circle while this cop was chasing me for a few mins... He just kept yelling, "I need backup!!" which was follow by, "I can get em"...
My fav. cop phrase of all time comes from Vice City.... After ramming your car in to other cars and taking out light posts and mail boxes, a cop standing on the side walk says, "Reckless driving is against the law.".... then walks away and doing nothing about it... |

They didn't want to show him digging through bodies to retrieve his toys? So archaic. And, the children would just start sticking each other with the latest bat object, so now they just, oh never mind.. but it became cartoonish for kids no doubt. (tree huggers) |

Too bad that didn't make the 'Bat Chainsaw' or the 'Bat Meat Processor'... Well... I think they got the 'George Forman Meat Processor' but it's just not the same... lol
To me, Batman and Catwoman always seemed like a strange attempt at S&M... I guess that is why they have 'Bat Handcuffs' and the 'Catwoman Whip'.... or did she have a whip. If not, she's not doing it right... Now all they need is the..... uhhh... ok... Don't forget about the bondage implication of Wonder Woman's magic lasso.

I wonder who they're going to pick for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. I'm going to have a really hard time seeing anyone other than Lynda Carter in the role. She was perfect.
Apparently the creator of the show got into a big fight with the network over having Lynda as the star, because she was an unknown at the time. They wanted someone already established and more experienced. Luckily, the network backed down and the rest is history.
Lynda also did some of her own stunts early on, but the network people started freaking out over it once she became a star. If she injured herself severely . . . that could have meant the end of the show. So I understand the reasoning behind that. But I found it amazing that she did some of her own stunts for a while, too!

That is so true. She really kept her looks over the years. It must be nice to have a wife that still has it after about 30 years when she was in her prime.
One hot babe that looked a lot like her (but evil) was the chick that played off the 80's mini-series 'V'. She was the one that played the top alien chick, Diane.
Anyone remember V?

You know, I remember thinking a few years ago that Brooke Shields might make a good Wonder Woman. She kinda resembles Lynda Carter. (At least she did in her TV series.) Not sure if she could still pull it off?... haven't seen her for a while.
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Brooke is too old to play Wonder Woman. If they did a remake I'd vote for Zooey Deschanel.
(Linda Carter was 25 when the original 70's Wonder Woman was made. Brooke is 41)

Brooke never struck me as woman enough to play Wonder Woman.

I was a Security Guard at Warner Brothers when I was 19 and I worked on the lot when V was filming. since I worked Graveyard shift, I got to go onto the sets after hours. I used to sit and eat my lunch in the cockpit of a fighter on the hanger set.
It was a blast.
I had some props from the show that I sold a while back on Ebay. I'll try to scare up a pic for ya.
Jane Badler was the actress you mentioned by the way.
Funny story: I was workign in a lobby one day and the blonde actress June Chadwick who played the other evil alien girl came in. I told her "I wish I had my photograph of you in your uniform from V to get your autograph!", to which she replied "Would you like one of me out of the uniform?" I had a difficult time answering that question. What I had pictured was not what I ended up with, but it was just as good!order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

That is really awesome. I was a fan of that show back when it first aired. I use to have the TV guide that showed some pics of the event when they ripped the face off that one alien guy when they were holding some sort of a media event. I'll have to rent the mini-series again since I've not seen it since I was a kid.
Out of uniform... Why yes, Miss Chadwick... That would suffice... lol....
Thanks for posting Jane Badler's name. She was such an attractive lady and played an evil character well... good actress. I don't recall seeing her in anything since, but I never really pay that much attention when I'm watching a movie or show anyways....
Awesome post, Dave. |
