The question then becomes where we can actually get the comic from. Barnes & Noble? Borders? Should we look at our local comic book seller (assuming we have one).

Is there a possible distribution list for the comic available somewhere? Or will it be online to purchase?

The comic will be available at better comic book stores, Amazon.com and direct from the publisher at www.slgpublishing.com.


Usually you need to ask the comic store to reserve you a copy before they will get it, if it's not a big Marvel or DC title. At least, that's been my experience.

I'd like to add to what LurkingHorror mentionned about the state of the comic book industry.

I too grew up buying comics that were :

1. Available almost everywhere
2. Where dirt cheap
3. And most importantly, they were FUN

Now the comic biz is not in a bad shape as most people think. The big companies are doing very well. The problem is for the independants (formerly called "small publishers").

Independants have it very though nowadays, trust me I should know, and there is very little we can do about it. However comics have been around since 1938, its a safe bet to say that they will stick around for some time.

The reasons why readership as constantly declined is inversely proportionnal to the amount of gadgets now available to the mass market. Myriads of MP3 players, cell phones, digicams, standard and protable gaming consoles, internet MMORPG subscriptions, DVDs, collectibles, toys.....THEN comics.

So it's hard to point the finger at one thing, people just got interested in other things. Worse comics are now scanned and available for free. So all of these factors makes print runs very low, while print and art costs have remained the same, even increased in many instances.

Combine that with the fact that comics are scarcely available, then you have a comic book industry filled with many titles coming from the big companies, and few from independants.

In closing I sincerly wish Godspeed to SLG and the Tron comic, I am looking froward to it since...well...I'm a Tron geek

Hehe, yeah that video was already mentioned here on Tron-Sector a while back. It's a must see.

I have some new info about the comic on my news site, thanks to my buddy Load. I'm pushing this comic as much as I can in my own limited fashion, because the future of any additional Tron items heavily depends on its success, I'm afraid.

I come to check the forums and see my scary unshaven face on the front page. Weird. I wish I had been prepared for that video. I'm not a speaker by nature and was very on the spot.

And that hat I'm wearing. I lost that hat shortly after that video was filmed. I had owned it for most of a decade. Sigh... Painful painful memories.

Sorry - didn't mean to weird you out. Unshaven face and long lost hat - it's still a great clip! I think people who missed it before (like I did) will enjoy you guys talking about the comic.

I just took a look at the video here. ANd it looks awsome. I hope that it is not too expensive either. I want one so badly over here. ANd I hope that wil will be available up here in Canada as well. I do realize how expensive it might be. But it is well worth it I think. Is there a US and Canadian prixe on it already that when it does come out that we could know how much it will cost here? I'll take a look to see if the comic book store that was close to where I had taken my courses a few years ago can get it or at least find out through a convient store that I usually get my newspaper from Toronto can carry it up here. Any information of where we help get it spread the word about this. Would be useful for everyone here.

A rough Guesstimation would be probably $4-5 Canadian roughly. Sounds about right. Well we will find out once it gets into print and comes out. I will double check to see from the local comic book store still to find out.
