On track 6, "Water, Music, And Tronaction", during the first part when they're at the energy pool, there's jingle bells in the background, right?

I've got the soundtrack on my iPod, so I'll have to check that out on my drive home from work tonight.
Heh, it's actually kinda wierd; I just happened to be listening to Bobby Helms' rendition of Jingle Bell Rock when I read your post.

I guess I just don't listen too clearly or something, because I didn't notice that...
I normally have the TRON soundtrack on my MP3 player, but I took it off to make room for other stuff. Hah, good thing I have iTunes open!
I can see why I never noticed those 'jingle bells' before (if that's what they are), they're very backgroundish, and more of a 'beat' thing.
But yeah, about 1:30 into the song, when the music changes tone, the bells kind of drag into the next part. I guess that could just be for transition, so the change didn't seem too sharp, but it still sounds kind of funny when you listen for it.

Odd, I just checked my DVD copy of Tron, and it sounded to me as if the bells trail off before the 'TRONaction' part kicks in, not like in the soundtrack. I actually couldn't hear the bells at all, what with the sound until the end of the scene just around when Ram runs off after Tron. And, like I said, it sounded as if the bells trail off before the next shot begins.

OK, just got home a little while ago.
Yes the jingle bells do get shaken into "Tronaction" about three times.
If I were to look for some sort of meaning, I'd say that it was the happiness they felt at the power/water lingering a bit into the serious business they got back to.

I agree. Which means one of two things. The tracks were recorded seperately and spliced together for the soundtrack creating a slight bit of overlap, or the movie used a different take.
The original vinyl does the same thing. *shrugs*
And since we're on the topic of noticing things, have you ever noticed that on the table of contents liner for the 20th anniv DVD that Tron is actually a Red?

Haha, of course. You know, I've always liked that bit of concept art (for the MCP, I think) on that insert just above the sceencap of Sark and his motley band of hockey players.
Oh, Yeah staying on topic. Um... Ever notice how much that Tron fellow looks like Alan?

The first song...I've been wondering who sings it...
At first I thought it was Phil Collins. Then I thought it might be Journey...now I just don't know.
(I have a burned version, not the real thing *shhh!*  )

I was about to make a smart ass reply that the Tron soundtrack is still readily availble... but it looks like the 2002 CD is now out of print? So soon? Jeez.

I was so angry at the people at the CD store who told me that. I wanted to DESTROY THEM!!! GRRRR!!!
