hee hee. Stereotypical European Attitudes

on Tuesday, November, 29, 2005 12:07 PM
i just got this in an email from a friend. i laughed when i read it, so i thought i'd share it with you:

The British in relation to recent bombings have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved'. Security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorised from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance". The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

Meanwhile, the French government has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate". The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

Neighbour, Italy has increased its alert level from "shout loudly and excitedly" to "elaborate military posturing". Two more levels remain, "ineffective combat operations" and "change sides".

The Germans also increased their alert level from "disdainful arrogance" to "dress in uniform and sing marching songs". Two higher levels remain: "invade Poland" and "lose"

Editors note: An increase in Germany to the highest alert level would of course require a rewrite of the traditional English folk song "Two world wars and one World Cup do dah do dah".

PB's note: just in case you're wondering, said folk song ISN'T a folk song.

Yeah, and posting such bigotry doesn't help either. Have a bit more consideration, pal.

As a matter of fact it is. Evidence: The thing makes fun of Britain. Prankster is British.

No offense meant, Red5. I'm just hoping not to start a fight in here.

The only thing funnier than the message was Red5 over-blown reaction to it. Bigotry? Jeez Looeez. Take yourself a little less seriously.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

You know how sometimes you can shoot milk out of your nose when you laugh?

When I read the french part I did that, only I was eating ice cream at the time. OUCH!!!!!

Red5. I can see your point, but isn't it a little uncomfortable because it hits close to home too?

The British have a stiff upper lip. Nothing ruffles you guys. I would find that part a little complimentary frankly.

i saw this and laughed because it was making fun of my own country. the thing about stereotyping the british is that i don't care if you really feel the need to, you can post all the Anti-British stuff you can think of.

as for the whole thing in general, make a note of this:

IT...IS...A...JOKE
it's just a bit of light hearted humour. if anybody has a problem with this, and thinky it's deeply insulting[incidentally, it isn't.], consider these points:

1) i didn't write it, i recieved it as an email, laughed, thought you people might like to see it, then posted it.

2) does it say anywhere on this thread about whether i actually hate these countries or not? no, it doesn't. I love all of the countries mentioned in here. Germany and France are 2 of the most amazing places i've been to, the people there are all really nice and friendly. i expect if they saw this, they'd chuckle at it as well.

i'm just letting you know why i found this funny. i love the countries mentioned, and i find it funny because i love them

Somehow, that image just made my day. (Heh. My revenge come swift in the form of ice cream due to the evilness of the mis-spelled word-a-thon. *Runs around all ninja like* )

He he! The French! That was a good one. ^^ Although our French people seem to be a little more firey... Now where did that come from?

the grench are brilliant people, they really are.

and the language *WOW*

the french language is beautiful. of course, i can't understand a single word of it, but it just flows so...enigmatically. it's bliss to listen to.

German is just as good, but it's the only one that i understand.

here's a little story of one of my experiences:

during my fifth year of learning German, i went on a school holiday trip to the Rheinland. we went on a cruise down the river, past the
Lorelei rock [take a look at the photos] and back. on the boat, there was a slide to keep the children occupied. it was a really hot day. i saw a guy about 20 yrs go down the slide and just lie there at the bottom, then he got up and said "Das ist heiss".

for me, that was a revelation. it was the first time i'd heard someone speak a foreign language there-and-then, right in front of me, and i understood it. it felt so strange and so compelling.

good memories.
i'd give anything to go back there

In Red 5's defense, I bet that wouldn't have been so funny if done with race instead of nationality. What's the difference when it's all said and done?

This is just like the interview(s) from South Park the Movie.

These "Stereotypical European Attitudes" are just as full of fun and fact.

Thanks for sharing!!

And in this case, no one really is.

Although, it reminds me of a quote from American Dad where he says "Hey! We're another shade safer today!"
