So, last Monday I (finally!) purchased a new PC. Goodbye old Radeon 7000, hello Asus AX300 SE
So what was the first thing I did? ..well, actually the first thing I did was spending a couple of days installing applications (TextPad is doing just fine in its new home) and copying data, but right after that, I installed !
(insert sound of angels chorusing).
Gosh damn, it's awesome! I know you know that, but still, I can't help geeking out a bit.. I've spent the last two days constantly slack-jawed. Ooh.. would you look at that! And that! And THAT!
...hey, look at _that_
Basically the only thing left overlooked is my brand-new copy of DooM 3
Heh- ok, I'd love to go on ranting, but I'm sure you all understand. I have but one complaint, and that it's already over. I can't wait to try the multiplayer mode, but alas, this is the last day of my vacations! I really can't hold it against my job, though, since no paycheck->no new Pc->no awesomeness. I really look forward hitting the game grid next weekend, and I hope I'll see some of you guys!
Anyway, having gotten this out of my system (in a manner of speaking..), I can mention something that can be at least of cursory interest here. I went through the game very carefully, scooping up every available on every level. Guess what my version number was at the very end? 10.0.0. Hurrah for our side!
Wait. Wasn't there supposed to be a bug that prevented to reach a perfect score? Oh, right, it has been corrected in the latest version. Now the maximum is.. 10.0.3? So what in the Recycle Bin did I miss?
Well, maybe I'll find out when I'll replay the game at skill level hard.

You probably missed one of two things:
1. You forgot to talk to Romie before releasing him from his cell.
2. You didn't keep at least one tower on the City Hub level from being corrupted.
That being said, if this was your first time playing then that's a mighty impressive score. You found every build note on your first try!

Most likely the second one. Yep, that was positively hellish.. couldn't do much more than saving my own skin.
Wow, it just occurred to me that now I'm obliged to try to save at least one tower.. on level->hard. I'm going to use your faq for that one..

What're the specs?
Got any pictures? |
lessee... Athlon AMD 64 3000+ SCK-939, 80 Gb HD, Main Board MSI 7100, graphic card.. you know that one, 17" LCD, 512 mb SDRAM, a dvd player and a dvd burner. Oh, and sh*tty speakers.
And I'm afraid no photos until I figure how to install the drivers for my camera.. of course, since printer and scanner were a no-brainer, _something_ had to go wrong..

Err, unfortunately I haven't gotten that far with the walkthroughs yet. Sorry.
It's one of those things on the backburner that I keep putting off. But I will finish those walkthroughs by the end of the year. (How's that for commitment? )
What I can say right now off the top of my head, when you get to that point:
I used the Ball Launcher for that part, because of its rapid fire rate and decent damage. The disc takes too long to come back, unless you use the Sequencer so you can fire off multiple discs. Use Megahurtz, Corrode, and Primitive Charge if you have them. Make sure you have Viral Shield installed, or you'll be in big trouble.
I basically stayed close to the towers, and ran up and down the paths between them, constantly on the lookout for spawning Z-Lots and Rector Scripts. I took out the ones closest to the towers as quickly as possible, then wandered off a bit to mop up the rest. But I never stayed away for long, and returned to the towers quickly. Keep grabbing the Core Dumps to replenish your health and energy. Boosting your the Energy part of your Performance Ratings will help you to last longer in combat before you run out of energy.

Thanks for the tips. I'm a very defensive player (y'know.. step-shoot-step back-quicksave-repeat) so "burly brawls" in the open put me in a disadvantage. (oh, the fun I had with the LOL the "protect Ma3a with your sniping skillz" was my favorite subgame...). In fact, I don't think I ever used the ball family of weapons at all- well then, it'll be fun to change strategies for once.
