Hello I'm new here. I'm an artist and I must say I love the graphics on this site. I love tron as well.
There seems to be a benny already here. so I'm going to be benny v2.0 if that is ok.

I know this has been answered already, but I wanted to elaborate. It was derived from the word "elecTRONic" because before the film TRON, there was a hand-animated, back-lit character that was dubbed "TRON" because he was an "electronic" looking character.

TRON also stands for TRACE ON, which is a debug command or something, TROFF is the opposite (Trace Off), just for those who didn't know that yet.

hey,
I have posted elsewhere on here but decided to say hey! It's great to be here, I waited so long for an experience like Tron 2.0 and it led me here. It's awesome to see that Tron is alive in the hearts of you alll. The excitement and energy here is contagious. The prospect of a tron movie, well.... *crosses fingers.
Dave, great job here, I've read a lot of posts and you know your stuff. I also thought your name was familiar when I spotted it in the credit roll for Tron 2.0. Thanks for your on that game, you and the others did a fantastic job. You should be proud of yourselves.
And now I've gotta go and add two more PINGs to the Tron view thread.

I cannot take all the credit because TRON Sector is the sum of it's many parts. Many people built on this long before I arrived on the scene.
Dave 'Auric' Hernly built the site. Scott, Guy, Martin, Sketch, Reel Todd and many others have added significantly to all of the major areas.
I came aboard because of the PC game, and I seem to have become a bit of a benevolent MCP type here. But I am here for the fun like everyone else. We've become a bit of a family over the past few years. It's good with occasional cloudbursts, but you won't find a better site to hang out on and make new frieinds.
TRON means a lot to me, and it's given me the opportunity to call the people who made it frieinds, and I try to share a lot of what I know and learn here. Glad it's appreciated.
I am also extremely proud of the PC game and the Gameboy Advance game. They both came out really good to me.
Welcome to the sector, and I hope you will enjoy your time with us.
