First of all hello i'm new here. i have never seem a music video of my favorite SciFi movie. so i made one. it took 3 days to make and sorry about the quality it's heavily compressed down to 8.6mb. it's in quicktime format with Mpeg-4 compression. i just thought that i'd share it with the nice people here.

First, welcome to the TRON Sector. Nice to have you here!
Sadly, your compression tool appear to make it unviewable for me. Quicktime says it does not have the proper codec to download so all I get is audio. I'll try from my home PC later tonight.

I tried to play it in a quicktime player but it told me I didn't have the right "compressor" and that it wasn't available on the Quicktime Website.
Any tricks to viewing this video?

you need a Mpeg4 codec to view the file. i had to use Mpeg4 since the final rendered video was over a Gig in size and this gets it down to just under 9mb.
here's an Mpeg4 codec that i've used before.
just select which os on the right.

I just download that codec and I still can't play this video. I too get the audio but no video.

I took a look at the properties of the file after I downloaded it. Only the audio is compressed using MPEG-4. The video is compressed with a codec labelled "avc1".
I don't get any video either, and QuickTime can't find the codec on Apple's servers.
I think it might be necessary to upgrade to the latest QuickTime v7.0?

i took my source video and re exported and compressed it in 3ivx format and re uploaded it. which should at least work under that codec. sorry it takes a long time to do this stuff when you only have and 8 year old computer and a hacked dial up connection. thanks for the welcomes.

Greetings, macmarauder, and welcome to TRON-Sector! 
I wasn't able to play your first video either (tried it earlier today), but the second one worked just fine.
Very cool use of TRON footage with heart-pounding chase music! Nice job on the editing to wrap it in to it's own kind of psuedo-story like that. And I enjoyed the little extras you put in there.
Geez... now I kind of want to go watch TRON!

Works now... and I really enjoyed it. Made me think it could almost have been a teaser for the movie itself.

Yup, worked for me too.
Very nice work, macmarauder! A TRON rave video . . . very pounding beat to it. Like wwwmwww says, it could almost be a modern-day version of a teaser for the film itself.
And I always wanted to know what Sark's desktop looked like.

i used to hangout at Leoville.com until i accidentally hit the self destruct button and they had to build a new one. i have been using this avatar for about 3 years now and i've been floating around the net since about 1988. i'm usually found lurking in bill gates email causing trouble.

uummm well it's just something that i made about 6 years ago in high school during my techno phase. i never really named it. but if you listen to the uncompressed dumbed down version i recommend cranking the volume and watching the glass in the widows rattle.
