London Bombings

on Thursday, July, 07, 2005 9:56 AM
I know TRONProgram travels by train in London to get to work. I believe some of our other programs do as well.

Please check in here and let us know you are all OK. Hope none of you or your families were affected by this cowardly act.

That's odd. I had CNN Headline news up this morning and not one thing about it. This was the first I'd actually heard about it.

I hope all our British friends are safe, and I think that we can all say we feel somewhat affected by this sensless and brutal tragedy.

Simple reason for that: Bias. You see, this is how American news seems to work; They only seem to report certain stories that involves America to a certain extent. Remember that Tsunami a while back? Why did they ever pay attention to it? Because of the tourists! Should that tsunami hit the other side of the island, you would never hear of it.... well... almost never. Maybe a quick blip and that's it. Canadian and other 1st world country's news also do something similar but aren't nearly as dramatic. (BTW, this excludes places like China and Korea.) That's also the reason why we're hearing about this missing girl in Arruba so much. It's because she's American. If it were something like a Japanese girl on vacation in Arruba and going missing, you'd never even hear about it. I mean yeah, there's only so much you could cover in an 1hr long news program but lets be serious! Not every major news article in America must feature an American in need or something. So the reason why you never heard about the bombings, Boingo is because of bias. Not to say I'm anti-American here because I'm NOT, but I don't agree with all their practises.... I don't agree with all of Canada's practises either! Like when we put on our tourism promos on TV, we're always portrayed as one big camp ground or a frozen waste land which we are so clearly not. (And they're not the joking type/humerous commercials either! Damn us and our stupid comercials!)

Anyways, that be my well-informed two bits. I'm not anti-(Instert country name here), but I do have opions rooted in facts. Okay? Don't get this one screwed up!

I'm ok. Scary though, I'm only 10 minutes away from one of bomb sites. Thanks for the concern, would be greateful if everyone else in/around London could also check-in.

An awful day for everyone. I'm sure we all stand in unison against the people who did this.

Your rant was pointless.

I was on CNN.com at 9:30 AM EDT and the story was right there on top of the main page with "London Bombing" in big letters and a red alert bar across the top.

Maybe it wasn't on any earlier because they were trying to gather some more concrete information before presenting the story.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Kamui,

You really ought to think before you open your mouth.

I woke up this morning to coverage on every channel that has news this morning. It was everywhere on TV.

Internet news caught up at about 8:00 AM PST and it's everywhere I look as of 9:44 AM PST.

I didn't see any bias or limited reporting. I saw full and immediate coverage.

I find you far from well informed about what we Americans are seeing. Perhaps your own bias is showing a bit?

Oh, and WOW, American TV is focused on American issues? Gosh, who would have thought they'd do that? I wonder if the French are more concerned about things that affect them? I bet those Germans are really more interested in everyone other than themselves! (Sarcasm heavily intended)

Grow up and join the real world.

Martin,

I'm really glad to hear you are OK! That's great! I just knew when I heard this today that it was near your route as you've described it on your visits. I was really worried.

What's the situation like over there?

Ah, thanks for the info DaveTRON.

So the coverage was started way before 9:30 AM EDT. So the bias argument is even more baseless, if that's possible.

And you hit it right on the head DaveTRON. What would concern Americans or anybody else more then their own news? Duh!

Anybody else going to release their pent-up irrational hatred for the USA in the next few days?

Glad to hear that so far all of the TRON-SECTOR members from the UK are all right.

I wish you all well, and I hope none of your family members were affected by the terrorist attack.

Through it all, the USA and the UK are friends & allies, and I'm proud to count you guys as such.

We'll stick together and get through this.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Yeah, sorry all..... I didn't mean to start anything again. Man,I gotta stop doing that.

CNN Headline News kind of flips back and forth between buisness, sports, money and health news. I may have caught it during the off times when it was showing something other than the news news. I just was commenting on the fact that the Tron Sector was the first I heard about it, not really the lack of news coverage.

Again.. I am sorry for starting these things.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Troublemaker!

I don't feel like you are doing anything overt, but there has certainly been a rash of nasty and mean spirited anti-American comments lately from people who think they are well informed but are not.

I don't live in the UK so I have no freaking idea what it's like. Therefore I don't comment on their lifestyle. Same goes for France, Germany, Togo, Autralia and Antarctica.

I do however know the US and I am gonna get in the face of any uninformed twit who puts my country down! We may not do everything right, but it's a damn good place to live!

Dave,

Getting home took a little bit of time. But my train line wasn't affected at all which was forunate. I've only seen the pictures that you have seen on the news, we heard no bangs or sounds from my workplace. Obviously at work the TV didn't go off after we all heard, total shock in the office, I started to remember the day of 9/11 again.

Right now, I just want the people behind it caught. It's times like these that I think UK government should bring back the death penalty for crimes like this.

Thanks for being so concerned where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online
