This is a thread about celebrating Independence Day, the anniversary of the birth of our nation, not about bad-mouthing the USA, or about apologizing for things you don't like about the USA!

Hikaru.EXE, you did a very nice thing starting this thread, and for that I thank you. You should not feel bad for starting this thread out of pride for our great nation. There is nothing wrong with that. The fact that people who happen to not be Americans visit this website is not a reason to not post about American-themed topics.

If somebody wanted to post about a UK holiday, or an Australian holiday, or a Canadian holiday or any holiday for that matter, who is anyone here to rain on their parade?

People who don't agree with the celebratory topic of this or any thread should have the decency and common sense to not post in it and not ruin everyone else's good time.
