But it works. Especially if you're fast. But by the time you've gotten far enough away with ample protection, those bees would already be dead.

i still like my method of a small home-made explosion
it's amazingly effective. i remember my science teacher demonstration in the lab; she nearly set the cieling on fire.
the only side effect of it is that there might be a small crater, but we turned that into part of our chicken run. words of wisdom from...

I would just blow the thing down with a shotgun. I'd just mention it to my immediate neighbors and test their objectivity to my resorting to it and if they're radical, left-wing, anti-gun activists still driving around with Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers... well, I'd still do it, and if they call the cops, I'd leave the beehive in their mailbox.

Well,
It's over. I had someone come out and get rid of them. I am glad I had a professional do it because it was a HUGE colony, with a gigantic comb. I am surprised I haven't noticed them before. Anyway, with the comb and queen gone they'll all move on now to greener pastures.
As for the Africanized bee thing, I live in southern arizona and I believe that we have no native honey bees left, and they are now all of the "africanized" or killer bee variety. I will try and find some documentation on that, but I believe that to be the case.

Oh, okay. I see what you mean now.
However, that sure doesn't sound like the typical, signature attack from Africanized bees. At any rate, if they are, you're indeed fortunate.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Glad to hear you got that taken care of. Bee hive discoveries are never fun. I remember when I was younger and was in our barn. I picked up a square bail of hay and discovered a hive in and under the hay bail. They were'nt happy. Didn't take me but three seconds to drop the bail, jump to the floor level, and bolt back to the house. Still got stung a few times. Amazing how far they'll follow you.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I think I am fortunate. When the first one stung me I knew exactly what it was and bolted. By the time I was 1/2 way inside though the second one had stung me on the forehead.
I may be full of crap about the Africanized bee thing, but I swear I remember hearing on the news here that there were no more "native" honey bees and they had been displaced by the "Killer" bees. Bees are a MAJOR thing here, and big business. At least once per year someone is stung seriously by bees locally here.
Oh, and it only cost me $90 instead of the $150 I was worried about

That's good. Just yesterday I had a household invasive insect situation myself. We have termite swamers coming in our bathroom, and the house is only 4 years old.
Horray for me.
I'm sure I'll be choking up a lot more than $90 in my near future.

Every year over here in our city, we at least have one ifestation or another and it's not just one person but almost everyone. This year it's ants (Red ants actually. the big ones that are more prone to biting. It's bad enough I get bitten by my crazy cats but ants as potential biters?! ) last few years it was army worms (ARG! I hated those things! They were just creepy!) and a few years before that, it was ladybugs (Which I didn't mind nearly as much. Matter of fact, I wasn't even aware that it was an infestation of the sorts. Better ladybugs than anything else.)

I'd love to have an infestation of lady bugs. They're a beneficial insect that eat aphids.
I have a few appointments with professionals to get a handle on the termite thing. I'm not even dead positive that's what they are. I have samples in a ziplock bag. Hopefully they're something else, but I doubt it. I've had a termite experience in a duplex I used to rent, and they look the same.

As far as termits go, did you know that they are attracted to the ink from a ball point pen? It's true. If you draw a line on a piece of paper, they WILL follow it. I've actually seen this in action once. It's really neat to watch! the reason why they are attracted to the ink is because it smells just like the pherimones produced when a female termite wants to....well..... you know.

Gah... ladybugs... Man they are annoying. I'm not talking about the traditional red kind either, but the orange breed of ladybug. It's the state bug here in Tennessee, including Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Ohio.
They are beneficial, but don't let the cutness fool ya. They are very annoying if you live around crop fields. For defense they secrete a staining liquid that smells. They can stink up a room. Each year these things infest the house, and surrounding towns. They get into anything they can fit their little bodies into. The are attracted to white. During this time the vaccum is used daily to handle the ladybug situation. Oh, they love UV lights with a firey passion that can be seen once the lights are clogged with massive piles of their orange stinky carcases. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

My dad came up with a great way to deal with bees living in the ground. He lives in TN and he's found several and been stung mowing the yard many times.
Anyways, are you familiar with minnow traps? This works the same way. Buy some screen and fashion a cone out of it. One end large enough to set over the hive and the other end large enough to let a single bee through. Now make a cylinder to set over the cone and put a top on the cone. The whole thing can be made out of screen and hot melt glue.
Now casual walk up to the hive set the trap in place and as the bees come out of the hive they'll fly up the cone through the little hole and get trapped in the cylinder. Let it set for a couple days and soon you'll have a trap full of dead bees.
Anyways, that method has worked for us several times,
Carl

Actually, I've seen that done too. Oddly enough, it works because they'll follow it. ^^;; But I'd think you'd need an aweful lot of paper and pens in order to fully lead your aroused termites to your ultimate destination.
