....but, I saw the HHG2TG movie the day it came out! The only problems I had with it(Without revealing any plot changes) were: Arthur's NOKIA cell phone, which he didn't have in the book
And
They kinda turned it into a love story with Arthur and Trillian...
Also, they made my favorite character in it into a minority character who didn't say very much.....
Other than that, IT WAS GREAT! 
I LOVED IT SO MUCH!
IT WAS SO WORTH THE LIFE LONG WAIT IT TOOK!

I'm sorry, but Ford is my crush, and I TOTALLY claim him.
Zaphod was loveable in the movie, which scared me a little, because I hated him in the Mini-series, Raidio Show, and books.
FORD IS MINE!

LOVED IT.
My biggest problem was no two-headed Zaphod!  I mean...he was sort of two-headed, but not completely like he was in the book. Ah, well. You can't have everything, I guess.
You can have Ford, Tori...although he is gorgeous. I'll take Zaphod.

Don't worry about what is and isn't in the book. The TV series changed things that were in the radio series and the book changed things that were in the book. Every version of H2G2 has been different to what's come before it.

I saw the film this weekend, and as a fan of the books I thought they did a pretty good job. I was happy with the film, except for a few miiiiiinor points....
1) It was rushed. It could have been longer... they didnt dwell on the important things.. like the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster...and the Towel...
2) The romance between Trillian and Arthur... was that in the book? I really dont remember that.
3) Zaphod's head. It was TWO heads... not one under the other... but whatever... I guess that was kinda clever.
I'll probably buy the DVD. I thought the stuff from the guide itself was hilarious. the little animations and whatever. Very funny.
Overall I give it an A

I never did actually HATE Zaphod, as much as I thought he was on his own wavelength... you know? I mean, it's like hating a puppy because all they can think about is themselves and food. Zaphod was pure egoism.....and let's face it.. for those of us who are conscientious and honest and forthright and courteous... dont we all want to be like that sometimes... You know... just for a little while? Just think how much easier life would be. Of course we can't change who we are, just like Zaphod can't.... love him or not.. he is who he is.
He always reminded me of a rock star. We love their antics until they personally piss us off. Then they can go to hell

I don't really know why I ever hated Zaphod...I just kind-of did since I was little, and first read the book. Ford's always been my favorite(I loved his humor), and I used to wish that he'd save me from the Earth's destruction one day.

Awww....I love it when little kids are introduced to the story!
Like the cute little kids that were in the movie theatre, and walked out of it quoting Zaphod! It was abseloutly adorable, and it made me smile like crazy.
