Hi
I am surprised by the gigantic quantity of visits that has this line, it is the line with more visits in this section of the forums, never imagine that the people were approaching this line.
The second visit´s place is for "Forgotten cartoons of the 80's" by Sketch with 52 Replies, but 1649 VIEWS (COOL!)
The interesting thing is that in the 2 lines are in the same topic, the 80's
It demonstrates the pleasure of the people for this decade!

Well, the 80's was a great time and a lot of people, now having been 15 years removed from the 80's, are now thinking back to the great times they were.
I'm not surprised at all if this thread gets a lot of hits. The 80's RULED!

Yes - I clearly remember watching the show. It was hosted by Jack Palance. In fact, that was the first thing I can remember seeing him in. I believe it was on in the early 80's if memory serves. I watched it every week, though I don't believe it was on for very many seasons.
As a kid, I believed everything I saw on the show. Looking back, I doubt very much of it was really true, but it was an cool show full of interesting things.
Believe it... or not!

I remember Believe It Or Not with Jack Palance. My mother would always get so frustrated with how "fake" Jack's intonation was, but even then I knew it was part of his character. Even in Batman it was like .. "OOOH that's Jack Palance..." I mean you gotta love him for his trademark speech pattern.
I read something in my "Bathroom Reader" about Ripley recently.
Did you know he started his career as a baseball player?
He also drew all his cartoons between 7am and 11am and while upside down.
He spurred the drive to pick the National Anthem.
Charles Shultz, as a child, sent him drawings.
One man was SURE that Ripley was reporting erroneous facts. He sent 22,000 letters over 26 years to people mentioned in Ripley's comic asking them for verification. Of them 10,000 wrote back... not ONE disputing Ripley's reporting.

Oh yeah, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future was very cool.
Did you know that J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame was the head story consultant on CP? I read an interview with him on the net in which he talked about the plan they had for four seasons of CP, and how the story and characters would've progressed and changed after the first season.
Another cool show was Spiral Zone. Remember that one? JMS worked on it.
How about Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors? JMS worked on this one too.
And finally, how about He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra Princess of Power? JMS worked on both of those as well!
BTW, Jack Palance is a badass. 'Nuff said.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion "We are, after all, not God." - Cmdr. J. J. Adams "C is for cookie. Real People and That's Incredible... those were great shows!
Remember the guy who came on That's Incredible claiming he could flip pages of a telephone book and move a pencil with his mind? The Amazing Randi came on and put some styrofoam on the table near the pencil and near the book, and the guy failed to repeat his "feats"! That was a great episode.

Misfits of Science?
Man, I LOVED that show!
I don't remember it too well... other than the fact that I really enjoyed the show... and it was pretty short lived.
In terms of the actual content of the show, I have only vague memories... I remember in one episode, electro-guy was too charged up with energy and had to go outside to find some place to discharge his electricity. I remember a a short and cool sequence where he just lifted up his sunglasses and his eyes were glowing with energy because it was all built up in him. Though I don't remember too much now, I do remember really enjoying the show and watching each episode with delight.
Funny thing - I don't remember the frozen guy... was he on every week?
Another great early 80's TV show was Whiz Kids - a show about some young computer and technical geniuses. Does anybody remember that show? It was another short-lived show, but I loved it a lot - especially because they did a lot with computer on the show. I was such a computer geek back then! Not much has changed.
