I got mine today.
I only have three words to say.
Wow. Wow. And HOLY&^%@$%&!WOWOWOWOW!
I got Wipeout Pure for it. That was about all I could drop $$-wise at one time. It's sweet. The little thing is quite amazing. Has a wireless card in it and everything so if you have a wireless router you can play online. Also plays mp3's, mpeg-4 videos and displays jpgs. You can hook it up to your PC via a USB connection. Now, I am just waiting for Medevil to come out

Nah. I didn't bother getting the PSP. I'm not that much of a gamer over ehre personally. I've seen so many games like that come out through the years. Me I'm jut a pure power user of the worste kind over here. I'm waiting for the right now to get my computing rig over here. Or a nice llil notbook either one of those two personally over here.

I must say I haven't really been into handheld gaming units like that... but then I just saw a news clip on the PSP and it looked pretty sweet! I'm not a big enough handheld gamer to justify paying more for a handheld than for a PS2!
I love my games on my high-def 48" screen in surround sound FAR too much to drop that much cash on a handheld system.
Although it is an impressive machine.

Yes I do. And BOY does it rock. I've got Twisted Metal and Wipeout.

Well, I didnt drop nearly as much on this as I did when I first got my PS2. But right NOW yes, the PS2 is less expensive.
The thing is, the PSP, I feel, takes the whole gaming experience out of the cliched genre of "hand held", because when I think that I think mostly second rate graphics, sound, and options.
This is another gaming platform and entertainment system that is portable. I know that doesn't make much sense, but if you could see it in action I think it would make more sense.

No, I can't take that on an airplane, but I'd be afraid to take ANY handheld device on a plane nowadays, anyways!
They'd probably dismantle it, thinking it was a bomb or something!

got mine  Its such a cool little unit, I have a 1gb mem card to go in it. And already have Dr. Strange Love ripped onto the card. Movie on the go! soooo freakin sweet. And course a bunch of mp3s on it as well. I cant wait till someone writes a bios reader, then we will see some sweeeet mods. But yes dont judge the psp as a std portable, its really a good deal since it plays movies, mp3s yadda yadda as has been said. The launch titles arent bad, but the best games are yet to come
-wifi mp rocks my socks, already played a guy across the lecture hall in organic lmao

I just kind of breezed through the instruction manual last night, but these can be any kind of memory cards, right? I mean, as long as it's the right format it doesn't matter that it's not specifically made for the PSP... right?

just grab a pro duo stick with magic gate and your set. I picked up a Sandisk for $115. When you pop it in their the psp will format if it needs too, its pretty slick.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Wouldn't surprise me if some day someone devises a hack/mod chip to be able to program your own games and put them on the UMD media. That would be sweet. Then we could make our own lightcycle game.

Well I dont think sony is going to let anyone write to umds anytime soon. I'm interested in running programs off the flash memory though I'm guessing by the euro launch we will see some nice mods to do just that and maybe even full blown emulators for other systems. I played around with a friend's PSP today, and I can say it's a nice system. Incredible screen!
But, I'm still not paying $250 for it.
I'll wait until the price comes down a bit!

Does anyone have any game reviews yet?
I only have Wipeout Pure, which is brilliant. The sound and graphics are right on the mark with what you would expect from a wipeout game. It has all the old weapons, except the laser cannon, which was mostly inneffective in wipeout fusion anyway so I dont miss it. The effects in this game are great and I literally wince when I hear the onboard computer woman say "Quake" and I can see the screen lighting up and hear the rumble from behind....
The sound is fantastic (when you have your headphones on). You can hear the mines beep as they pass you, and the deep rumble of the power ups is great.
The challenge is intact, expect it doesn't run you in reverse like wipeout fusion did, which I liked. The time challenges are REALLY rough. The airbrakes seemed to handle better in wipeout fusion, but it could be because of the controls themselves.
What does everyone else have?
