Gaming Icons

on Tuesday, January, 11, 2005 10:46 AM
I thought all of you might get a kick out of these icons.

I don't remember where I came across these icons, might have been here, but I stumbled across these in my graphics collection last night and had to repost them.

Those are cute icons there. Gameboy, Game boy advance, and a few others that I do recognize there. Hmm interesting indeed.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

The Gameboy Advanced icon looks excatly like the one for VisualBoy Advanced for PC (Of course.... because I respect the site and everyone here, I'm not going in to details. Don't even ask about it. )

Is there an actual icon set like that that I can download for my compy?

Kamui,

Didn't mean to cause you any friction. Just found this image in my files and thought I'd share it.

Having made many icons for BVG over the years, I often see my work pop up in strange places too! Might not be the same situation as what you are refferring to, but I just wanted you to know there was no personal affront intended in posting these.

You mean the Virtual Boy? It didn't last long for a very good reason.

I only got to play one once... well, actually just got to look in it for a while in a store display. It was uncomfortable to hold my face positioned in that thing. I can't imagine playing it would be very comfortable. The graphics were disappointing (red monochrome) and the 3D aspect was weak. I can't believe this thing was designed so poorly and Nintendo actually invested money in to developing such a joke. Did they not get feedback from people? Did people actually say "yeah - this thing rocks!"? If so... WHERE? I would have owned one of these things if they weren't such a disappointment. But sadly they're not worth the plastic they're housed in.

In Nintendo's defense, I would guess that making such a device actually affordable contributed to it's less poor performance and graphic abilities. But if they couldn't make this thing worth owning - why make it at all? This seemed like such an obvious flop from the start. It was so clear to me it would flop - how did Nintendo not see that?

Ok, I guess I should explain something here. I've been waiting and WAITING for a really cool (and affordable) 3D home gaming experience. I don't understand why one still does not exist to this date. And it just seemed like such a feeble attempt on the part of Nintendo with their Virtual Boy, which was more than a virtual flop.

I'll continue my rant about lack of affordable 3D home gaming possibilities in a thread called "STILL no 3D" in "Other Sectors".

Oh, and cool gaming icons, DaveTRON. Didn't mean to get off on my 3D rant. Got some questions for you in the thread I'm about to start. With your gaming experience you may shed some light on things I don't understand (because I don't work in the industry). Thanks!

Oh no! You didn't cause any friction at all! ^^;; I was refering to something else and that something else (I dare not mention) is what I was actually talking about. It was nothing you did. Sorry about the mix up! ^^;;

Oops..... double post. Sorry yet again. My school compy is lagging a little bit.... ^^;; Better make the best of this.

Anyways, Virtual Boy could actually (In theory) do quite well if they changed the design a little to make it more confortable and make it have far more colours and ubber cool 3D graphics. I think it would work very well for first person shooters. That is IF they released some sorta new and highly improved version of Virtual boy. Thje concept behind it still seems quite promising. Hey! If they can make glasses-computers, then the technology does exsist to improve upon that game system.

Anyways, that's my two bits.
