Commodore being sold???

on Thursday, December, 30, 2004 7:47 PM
Hey folks. For those who have the commodore 64 in their homes being used for good old sake og gaming with it. Or just whipping it out and showing to friends and enighbors who don't know what the heck it is. I just found this article trhough a local electronic journal there called Lockergnome. I've been subscribing to them for what seems like ions now. But thought this would be of some intersts that Commodore is still out there some where. Here is the link directly to the article itself.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

"and in November, it began selling its C64 Direct-to-TV game device in the U.S. "

Hrmmm... I haven't seen this. I have seen the Atari 2600 systems and some arcade ones, but not the C64. That would be kinda fun. Anyone seen this? Own this? I just got wind of this article through lockergnome just the other day. So I have no idea what so ever. And Since I'm in Canada I don't think we caneven get that up over here from Commodore. I think it still linked up at www.lockergnome.com somewhere. I would have to take a look see from the email that I had gotten from them yesterday.

Here's hoping it comes with Solar Fox and Kickman!

Actually, I still have my old Commodore 64, complete with the tape deck, joystick and I believe my old cartridges for Solar Fox and Kickman.

It was definitely from a different time!

I know this doesn't compare with C-64, but my first real computer was a Commodore PC-III XT system back in the early 90's when I first got married. I hadn't owned a computer before that. Paid $2500 for a system that took 30 seconds to draw and fill in a circle on screen.

I still have that little beauty and she still runs too.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I own the C64DTV unit.

It's kind of weird having the C64 and C64DTV standing by side. In a way, it's almost neat too because they're both bundled in a piece of plastic. C64 is the keyboard while C64DTV is the joystick.

The commodore name was sold a long time ago. Maybe a year or two ago. >>order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I'm still trying to get my mitts on a c64 over here from a friend that I know that still has one at his place. But they don't really used it at all. I would like to own one personally just for nastaga purposes and all that. And to play a couple of gams on it for fun.

Davetron - I would consider that a a good emorbilia computer from commodore themselves there. Like you said it still in working order. If I can find some software that will run on it do you want me to send it down yourway there?? I'll take a look over here Does it runn off 5.25 diskettes or on the 3.5 and a internal hard drive? I'll take a look as I still have some over here. Just haven't found it yet over here. Some of the smaller games like Police quest and Leisure suit late for dos.

Wow, that's really something. I remember playing Gorf on it, as well as Zork and some other kind of D&D style game. Wow, those were the days.

Then we really thought it was a big deal when the C-128 came out, with double the RAM! Wow!

Those were the days. Look how far we've come...geez, I sound like I-No.

Come on, you scuzzy data, be in there.

It's worth it alone for the impossible mission games. Uridium was great too, but kinda hard Thanks for the list Kia and I will pop onto qvc.

Really, and let's be honest, was there anything better than Winter Games and Summer Games?

Methinks not!

I could represent any country, hear my anthem and go dive, shoot skeet, jump hurdles, ski a steep slope, etc.

Greatness in its simplicity!

I will always love the old-school gaming and the thrill of going to an arcade - and it saddens me to see the latter dying off.

Ahhh, those were the gaming days. Thanks for posting, Compucore -- I didn't know about that. And thanks for posting those "blast from the past" titles, Kia.

I went from the Atari 2600 to the Commodore 64 to the Amiga 500 to the PC, with an IBM PC Jr. thrown in there at some point. Soooo, my life has been filled with countless video games; probably too many! But alas...

I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^

No problem there Traahn. Tipping my helmet off and back on. Those were the days my friends and fellow conscripts. Just recently actually this afternoon in fact I had seen at EB gams thre for about $50-60 I believe there. I had seen like a video game consol that looked a lot like the original Atari 2600 console. But not like th orignal color and all that. Bu it looked very similar. And had something lik 10 games I think on it.

Sometimes I give my head a shake and say the same things. The C64 was my first compy ever. And I still remember some of the games on there. And I still remember "Turtle." God! No one in my media program (Except the profs) remembers that. It makes me feel a little like I-No despite the fact that I'm only 19yrs. ^^;;

On Edinburgh's High Street (that's Princes Street) Gameville are selling retro computers i.e. Sinclair Spectrum's, Commodore 64's etc. I expected them to be flung into a glass box in someone's personal museum, but they're selling them as items to use.

However, I still feel the Commodore Vic-20 (I've got a great pic of it if anyone want's it) is superior to the C64. And Kia - I was surprised not to see Blitz in your game list. It's a classic!

And by the way, when I was wee, we used to judge people on what computer they used. I was a Sinclair Spectrum laddie. Wheras others were Amstrad, Acorn Electron, C64, Atari ST types.

Do you know what I remember? In my cmoputer science class when I was in 9th grade the teacher brought in this camera and tripod and he took his picture and put it on the computer! It was the most advanced thing we'd ever seen! Granted, it was all in black & amber and in something like 100x100 resolution or something super-pixilated like that, but it was still very cool.

I wonder what we're all going to say (or our grand-kids) 20 years from now.
