I read your posts in the other thread and I know this isn't quite what you had in mind, but it might work. I guess we'd have to try.
What about an ASCII game grid (could be replaced with digicons if/when Sketch has the time). Each player moves a pre-established 8 or 10 grid blocks (dots in this case) at a time... or some number that might be more feasible if 10 doesn't work well. There's a red cycle indicated by the "R" and a blue cycle indicated by the "B".
No high-speed reflexes necessary because it's turn-based. People would have to move and anticipate the moves of the other player with each set number of grid blocks they move.
The game might look like this in action:
..................R...................
..................R...................
..................R...................
..................R...................
..................RRRRR...............
......................R...............
......................R...............
...............BBBB...R...............
..................B...R...............
..................B...R...............
..................B...R...............
..................B...................
..................B...................
..................B...................
..................B...................
..................B...................
..................B...................
..................B...................
It's kind of tricky making the grid properly in the post text box - I had to use Notepad and a monospace font to space it out correctly, than I added the bold tags later indicating where the cycles are.
Any "." is a grid block that can be moved on. Of course, there is no diagonal moves - each move must be to the "." above, below, to the left, or right of current position.
The game ends when the loosing player can no longer move the pre-established number of grid blocks when it's their turn.
Possibilities?
Give it a try?
Someone start the game here:
...................R..................
......................................

......................................
......................................
......................................
......................................

...................B..................
Try moving 8 grid blocks, and I'll counter move. Just make each move in a new post to keep track of the game. I'll apologize in advance if I don't post responses quickly
