So...

It has happened...

The game grid is dead.

Or at least the light cycle game grid is dead. That is the game grid I most often rezzed in on.

I went to see if I could find anyone out there earlier today, and there were NO light cycle servers running! And only 2 or 3 other servers offering disc games.

Crash's "Crashland" server was gone.

I've had trouble hooking up with anyone in the last several weeks. I coldn't even find Crash on his own server. I haven't had much time to play, so I only looked once a week or so, but still - no one was out there.

And now no more Crashland.

Just before making this post, I checked again and found the Encom ENT82 (don't remember exact spelling used) server offering light cycles, but my ping was horrible there, and there was no one else there anyway.

So after no activity on the light cycle game grid for an extended time, even Crash has shut down his server.

At least there is one server left, even if my ping sucks there. But I doubt I'll find anyone out there again.

What skills I had are pretty much gone. It's been weeks since I've engaged a live player out there.

And I never revealed my most-often used secret light cycle name... no one knows who I was. Then again, I wasn't planning on releasing that anyway.

Well, I'll miss all you guys (and gals)... who I haven't seen out there in the longest time anyway.

Well, as I said before (several pages ago in this thread) - all good things must come to an end.

This sucks. I feel like the game (light cycles) is really dead now. But I've got great memories of it, hundreds of screen caps, and even some video I took over a year ago (when the regulars were still pretty regular).

Yes, the magic is gone, but the memories remain.

Um, I'm on the grid I forgot to put the server up, ...with the lightning around here and all... I'll get em up there for ya, I do enjoy playing the game, hell I still have SW Battlefront 2 in it's wrapper, from lack of time. I bought it in february, hehe.

Played a bunch of games competing against Crash a couple of nights ago and then again tonight with Crash, Mr. Anderson, and (T3)Zipotron.

Definitely had a lot of fun, and some good competition.

We need to organize stuff to get everyone on, like a certain time every few days that's good for people on both sides of the pond (and that includes the rest of Europe as well).

Or, everyone could try using Tronlink or one of those other meet-people-to-arrange-game-grid-playing programs.

That's my two... pence, I suppose.

I'm sorry I missed both you guys. I'm sure you had a blast. With any luck, I'll be able to rez in the game grid again soon! For now, my PC is still not fully re-assembled and not all of my drives have been re-attached. In fact, my TRON 2.0 CD is inside my DVD player... that currently has its power and data cable detached for my replacement hard drive... which still dangles out the side of my computer. Haven't had the time to properly situate everything since my failed hard drive incident.

Man - I really need a new computer. This old machine is just holding on for dear life! Oh well, I'm grateful it still works... mostly.

I hope you guys keep hitting the game grid. I'm so out of practice, that when I return, you'll both have a blast wiping my sorry butt all over the game grid, I'm sure!
