They should do glossy, and use DayGlo florescent inks so the art glows under a UV light! How cool would that be?

Kia I guess it depends on how many copies that they are going to make. If its like 100,000 copies or qhat ever the amount is going to be. Sometimes the higher the number the lower the price is for making it. It all depends at the printing press.

Hmm, DayGlo inks . . . how about phosphorescent inks that glow in pitch darkness? That way you can go to bed, turn off the lights, and still read it in the dark. 
I know, silly silly silly. But glossy covers WOULD be nice.
Or, how's this for over the top . . .
An Organic LED layer of material embedded in the front cover, that can light up! You could have it pulse and change colors.
Okay, I know . . . time to lay off the the energy pool binges.

Sure why not. It would make it different though. A rather unique comic book for a unique movie that came out 20 years ago. and now being made into a vieo game.
