Thanks, Hoodoo Man, and Loctevus. I really appreciate it. I recently got SONY VEGAS PRO 11 (as a gift), and wanted to break it in by creating some challenging projects for myself. Initially, duplicating the flickering effect and the Rez-in effect seemed almost impossible-until I rewatched those effects several times in detail frame-by-frame, then it was easy. Wanted to use the Rez-in sound effect from TR1N, but I couldn't isolate it from the background music playing (when Flynn rezzes into the ENCOM 511, there's music playing over that sound effect). If anybody knows of some software that can cancel out music from sounds, let me know. Vegas always comes bundled with Sound Forge, and I'm still learning it-I know there's a way to cancel out voices from music, though, using a special patch in Sound Forge. Even read two detailed interviews with Frank Serafine, the Sound Designer on the 1st film, but he didn't mention how he did the rez-in sound. I got a little creative, and I may go back and make some slight changes as I now have an idea how to do the glowing disc trail effect.
From a thematic standpoint, I speculate that TR3N will focus a lot on Sam Flynn- but hopefully, we'll also see more of Dr. Lora Baines-Bradley/Yori, Roy "RAM" Kleinberg, Tron/Alan Bradley, and the Dillingers. It will probably be a mix of TR1N & Legacy.
