Center City

I hate to burst the bubble, but according to the Tron Wiki, it *is* center city.

"Center City is the fictional metropolis that is home to ENCOM and Flynn's arcade. Center City is a major center of corporate business.

Center CIty is known for its tall buildings, as well is its extensive waterways and ports. The city is also within driving distance of a vast forest.

Sam Flynn, son of former ENCOM CEO Kevin Flynn and ENCOM's largest shareholder, frequently found himself in trouble with the Center City police, owing to his frequent pranks pulled to embarrass the ENCOM executives.

The Center City setting was revealed in "Tron: Legacy."

Dumont says "Flynn's Story Begins the world of the users, a city of angels and lights."
While that *usually* means Los Angeles, it doesn't *have* to mean that.

Kevin/Clu's narration describes the Parallels between the Grid and Rome, describing the analogous seven hills of the west coast as "San Diego" "Los Angeles" "San Francisco" "Seattle" ..but that's only four cities...

I think that there are more references to Mumbai in Betrayal than Los Angeles.

This is, I'm not saying that Center City can't be in California. The Wiki implies that it is indeed in California.

"In 1980, ENCOM, an American technology company in California brings their first mainframe online, which had the greatest state-of-the-art technology at the time."
http://tron.wikia.com/wiki/TRON_Universe#The_rise_and_fall_of_Kevin_Flynn

The Wiki also notes that there are known inconsistencies between the Graphic Novel, Games, and the movies - and that neither Evolution nor Betrayal have been confirmed as Cannon.

Also... in that last scene of Legacy, there's a bridge and a large forest, Having been to LA myself, I'd argue that this is not LA, but at best, Northern California...

Since Tron Betrayal says Flynn was the creator of the ENCOM system, and I don't think he was, we can take that one line about LA with a grain of salt.

The final scene doesn't look like anyplace in CA I have been. I figured it was filmed in Canada.

It was filmed in Canada. I don't know it almost looked to me like the city was cgi?? Not sure. Center City is a fictional city. We won't find it on any map. It's supposed to be in California.. But it was filmed in Canada. Such is the magic of film making.

I'd agree. Flynn was never suggested to be the creator of the ENCOM system - except in the Graphic Novel. References to geography and history are not reliable in Betrayal.

I think it's widely known that the film was actually shot in Vancouver, Canada.

What really amazes me, is how they moved production to northern Canada to take advantage of the few days of 24-hour darkness to properly simulate the grid. I heard that they used zamboni machines to smooth the ice so that it mimicked the glassy surfaces of the Grid. I hear that the only real digital effects were when they used computers to digitally erase the frost forming on everyone's faces as well as the actor's breath.

Kinda reverse what they did for Titanic, as to ADDING frost and breath fog to the actors.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I just had an apoth... apotheo... thought that if Clu and his army got out, they'd all come out as rather mean and nasty action figures!
