After viewing the preview vid and this now, I wonder, why did they draw the programs to be so "stretched"?

It's cool . . . but you're right, it is a little weird.
They didn't look that stretched in the SDCC concept art or the trailer.
Maybe this is a preliminary deal that they just wanted around for the advertisement push.

For me, I think the problem is that it doesn't really seem, well, distinctive enough. If you were to remove TRON UPRISING & replace the character, in essence that could be advertising any sci-fi show.
(e.g replace the image of Tron and replace it with Annakin with a lightsabre, and it could be advertising The Clone Wars).
I think that there should be more emphesis on the key elements of the Tron Universe (Memory Disks, the vehicles, etc).

Seriously, the Tron franchise is renowned for it's distinct-even ICONIC-visual style, from the vehicles (like Recognizers) to the landscapes to even the glowing costumes they were.
I don't think that the artists have fully used this to there potential here.
If it was up to me, I would probably do something like this:

The coloring, and accents in the poster remind me of Jean "Moebius" Girauds art...

That's very cool. I was thinking, would'nt it have been cool for Quorra to be added as a new Avenger, for the up coming movie. I know it does'nt fit the comics, but it would sure help out the Tron Universe. Just a crazy thought.

That's a famous illustration from Moebius from the 80s, I believe. In fact, he was involved in the art production of the original TRON . But you knew that, right? He's one of the greatest illustrators in the field alive.
As for the image of Beck jumping off with long legs, I think I know where they're getting the inspiration from. Ever played the Sega Dreamcast game called Jet Grind Radio with cel-shaded characters with long limbs?
