Actually, it's spelled "statist" and I am none of those things. I instead choose to weigh all information and make my own conclusions given all the facts available and without the impediment of party nor theological loyalty. Politics is of itself a dog and pony show held in a house of smoke and mirrors, and anyone who gets caught up in the rah-rah game of "ours vs theirs" is simply a fool. That said, I don't doubt that there are sensible, intelligent and socially responsible individuals who, because of the current two party system in this country, are forced to chose a certain "allegiance" to one party or the other, and are therefore encumbered by the rhetoric that that particular party adheres to. Which is a sad thing, especially in this day and age, where there is so much that can and should be done to ease the suffering of humankind and maintain the delicate balance of happiness, security and prosperity without having to rape and pillage from the have-nots. Glenn Beck is a dangerous element in that he stoops to the lowest form of scare mongering in order to satisfy his corporate masters. And make no mistake, this country is indeed a corporatocracy of the first order. The true power struggle at play here is the one between the rich and the poor, with the two party system acting as de-facto surrogates of the two classes, a scam within itself that is becoming more and more apparent as the corporations continue to steamroll and co-opt our government and our "elected" officials. The Right is far more shameless when it comes to securing and maintaining the status quo; while The Left puts up the appearance of resistance while championing the Middle Class, they too have been subdued to a large degree by the power elite. To think anything other than this is to perpetuate the delusion that Becks, the Palins, the Limbaughs, the majority of the GOP and the rest are all "True American Patriots" who care so deeply for God and Country. Their attitudes toward race, gender, sexuality, finance, defense and their own often times hypocritical versions of "spiritual morality" are all extreme views with no middle ground but which are wholly designed to maintain and increase the gap between the classes. We're living in hard times, and these are hard truths. They come from common sense observations of our government's interactions (read: capitulating to) Wall Street at the expense of the Middle Class. They come from the assertion that a loving God would deny ANYONE access to the same rights that we all share. And they come at a price: the destruction of this country and the debasement of its citizens. Now, I don't know you personally, so I'm not going to unload both barrels of logic and common sense at you. But I really wish you'd do some independent research about the subjects you've stated. Break free from the machine. Think for yourself. The answers you find may surprise you.
