Has anyone stated how Clu knew Alan's pager number? Closed system, yes?

Only guesses involving either a connect modem or a network connection to Encom that CLU somehow managed to get control of.
Both fail because a modem would only work with a phone connection and Alan himself said the number had been disconnected for 20 years.
And if it was a network connection then CLU would have been better served using it to move into the ENCOM system itself and expand his control, rather than just sending a page.
Last, Flynn had his own Pager System in the Arcade, complete with transmitter and all, not needing any external connections. It was just stuffed in a closet somewhere we didn't see.

Well, I think we had discussed it once before, how exactly Clu sent the page. It was a long time ago, though. But I had said Flynn probably had SOME sort of device that would go to the pager...so maybe Clu got ahold of it at some point?
