Greetings programs! is there a way to set up a proxy on Nintendo Wii?

on Tuesday, December, 21, 2010 5:39 PM

Greetings programs!

I just set up a proxy on my PC with my web browswers and it works find.
But when I use my wireless router which sends a signal; to my Nintendo Wii
I can't get the proxy to work.

I guess it works with my PC since the proxy is installed on my PC.

But is there any way to get it to work on Nintendo Wii?
I'm using scroogle.org to surf on the Wii.
But Would still be nice to able to use a proxy.

Any help would be great! thanks programs.

You just trying to get your Wii on the internet?
I'd look for a USB DS wifi stick. It works with DS and Wii, and creates a secure connection between a computer & the Wii for internet connectivity.

They are tough as nails to find any more, but the drivers are freely available online to download.

I think it is possible. I remember seeing a website for Fatal Frame IV (which was only released in Japan), mentioning something about this. There were a bunch of fans who decided to get together and create a FansDub version in English, Italian, (and other languages). The only thing is, you'd have to download something onto your Wii, and it sounded way too risky - like it could damage it.

Certainly.

I'm actually still pretty pissed that Fatal Frame IV was only released for the Wii in Japan, and not in other countries. I've seen some clips on youtube, and it's accompanying website, and it looks like a BADASS game. Guess, I'll have to get that game, "The Calling" for my PS3 to satisfy my Fatal Frame cravings.

This risky process you're referring to is jailbreaking the Wii system so that you can run the Homebrew Channel on it. Jailbreaking requires opening the system up and physically modifying the hardware that allows the system to check if software is authorized or not. It also requires a savegame from Zelda Twilight Princess, since there was an exploit in that game's save files that allows users to go in and allow unauthorized software to be ran on the console.

Or something like that. All I know for certain is that if you do something wrong, you can be locked out of your system and your warranty is immediately voided.
