I think that would be a cool subplot/twist in Tron 3: have Alan and Roy find out about what really happened to Flynn. I think it'd be cool for Alan to actually get to meet Tron, though I'm not sure what the odds of that happening are. But it'd be cool! | I think Kevin was waiting until the ISO reveal, when he had proof that he wasn't crazy to reveal the grid to the world. He would have told Alan first, it seemed like he was close to telling him and really Sam as well if CLU hadn't turned on him. |
Older Sam picked up real quick on Clu. Once he revealed he wasn't Flynn, Sam recognizes him. But how did he guess he was bad? Didn't Flynn leave him with the idea Clu was an ally to help with the Grid? | I assume it was by the way Clu was acting. You got the impression he had something nasty up his sleeve...just the way he says "Not in the cards. Not for you." Hence why Sam says, "That's a hell of a way to treat your son." You can tell he's kind of thrown off--"dude, I don't remember my dad being an asshole." Plus perhaps he figured it out--"okay, obviously this dude is in charge and some sort of dictator, plus these Games are pretty nasty. If this dude is in charge, and I know that my dad is SUPPOSED to be in charge, some bad stuff must have happened." Because he doesn't seem to be all that surprised to find out his dad is exiled, either. |
This is why I thought CLU didn't send the page/pulse. He seemed surpised at Sam's arrival.

He was expecting someone like Alan, not Sam. He did send a page, I believe. But when Sammy came in, it threw Clu's plans off however he took advantage of the opportunity to get back at Kevin where it hurts him the most. |

I don't know if someone touched on this, but I agree with whoever said this was a hybrid. I think that before the 2009 mark is a mockumentary of the Flynn Lives thing. It would have happened in the real world from 1989-2009. After the 2009 mark would have been a teaser for Tr3n, I think.
Of course this is just what I thought when I saw it, the real teaser didn't start untill 2009.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

The page bugs me. Because when Sam first mentions it to Flynn when they first meet, he says something like "I got your page" and Flynn thinks for a moment then says "the page, yes..." as if it was something he did and forgot he did and only remembered when Sam brought it up. I mean, he sounds almost dazed in that moment. Then later he says he didn't send it, Clu did. So why did he seem to acknowledge it at first? I mean, I didn't think he sounded confused, like "page? What page?" He definitely sounded to me like he knew exactly what Sam was talking about, and he'd just forgotten all about it until then.
And what's with Alan and the page, anyway. If Flynn told him to sleep with the pager, and Alan found it important enough that he did so, then he obviously had the idea that if he got a page, it was of utmost importance and timeliness. So why did he wait two days before telling Sam about it??? (And if Sam hadn't pulled his Encom stunt that night, would Alan have showed up at his place that night and told him about it?) I mean, "hey dude, your dad gave me this thing that is apparently really important, and we haven't heard from him for 20 years, but now something came up on it perhaps from him and he might be in serious trouble, so I didn't bother to let you know or do anything about it right away." Does not compute!!!
What do you want? I'm busy.
Program, please!
Chaos.... good news. |

Kat, I've had a bit of an issue with the pager situation too. If Flynn gave it to Alan, he should've told Sam all those years ago that he has it and that he would hold onto it until then. I mean, the guy had his father's pager for almost 20 years without telling him! WTF?
Second, if Clu or Flynn indeed sent a page, I suspect that page was sent 20 years ago and it did'nt arrive until 20 years later. It's kind of like Einstein's theory of relativity where one part of time travels at a speed of light from one end of the galaxy to the other. I suspect it's almost the same thing between the digital and 'real world'.
Except Flynn's pager took a long time to get through thanks to Clu's intervention, cutting him off. So in essence, the page was 20 years too late. What would have happened if the page came through right after Flynn got trapped?
That would have yielded different results.

I caught all that too. Maybe Flynn lied to Sam about Clu sending it so he wouldn't want to do anything. He tries to convince Sam why Clu might have sent it. Didn't work anyway.
Forget it, Mr High and Mighty Master Control. You aren't making me talk.

I think that Kevin was joking to Alan when he said to sleep with it. also think that Alan slept with it for purely nostalgic reasons. I think Kevin was trying to lighten the load on Sam by saying "the page, yes...", he had every reason to think that Sam would be trapped forever with him in the grid now. He didn't want to be like, "Well son guy, you walked straight into a trap that was meant for Alan. You're stuck here for basically forever and Clu's going to destroy the world one way or another." He waited until after dinner to tell him that he didn't send the page. (Also Kevin know that something brought Sam there, so if it was a page that would make sense to him.)
