I'm APPAULED. The Daft Punk Tron: Legacy soundtrack is addicting. I'm lost for words.

When I think about the film scores that have won they rarely pick scores from sci-fi or fantasy films but those are the ones I remember and have listened to, even actually went out and bought the album, there are ton of really great scores that don't win or even get nominated.
Would you believe that Danny Elfman's Batman score wasn't nominated, nor Vangelis' Blade Runner score. If you are over the age of 30, you probably can still hum Toto's Dune theme and i'm sure everyone can hum the Wendy Carlos Tron them. I also remember how unique the Fifth Element score was and while this probably would be more in the original score category, but the Dive Plavaluguna scene in that movie is still jaw dropping to me. Another thing that surprised me when I looked up the list was that the Matrix received no nomination for best score. I also thought Fight Club's music was great and still no nominaton
When you look at that particular awards history, there is a lot of memorable scores not listed, but I guarantee people will still be listening to Daft Punk's Tron music 10 years from now, while what does win will probably just be a footnote in the wikipedia.

I see what you're saying but I don't necessarily agree with it. Bridges comes from an acting family and as shown with his last win he has a healthy respect for the craft. I think as long as he thinks the script is good (and had a good time making T:L) that he'll come back without trying to break the bank.

He's old now. He doesn't have to 'build his image' or 'protect it.' He can just do what he wants, and if he gets another Best Actor he'll have his pick of just about anything. Yeah, it's depressing. I wanted to see a score nom as well, but I steeled myself for the Academy's lack of vision. That said, you'd THINK they wouldn't let VFX slide not necessarily because Legacy had the best visual effects of the year (in my very humble opinion, it did), but because the Academy likes to say, "Sorry!" long after the fact. Thus, I thought that after snubbing TRON way back in the day, they would make up for it now with the nomination to Legacy.

Bridges only turned 61 last month, hardly an old man at the end of his career. Look at Anthony Hopkins. He is 73 and still making movies.

That's not my point at all. My point is that Jeff Bridges doesn't have to answer to an agent. Especially if he wins a second oscar. If he wants to do Tron Legacy 2, he will, man.
