but it got some serious competition 
inception is a big competitor and even harry potter might be a bit of a nuisance
but nonetheless - can't wait to see the winner !

Not being biased, I genuinely think Legacy's visuals are the most beautiful thing i've seen this year. failing that, I'd say Inception would deserve it, but not HP. It had nothing we hadn't seen before, and the film was actually a let down. Besides, it's received enough recognition over the years.
Inception are neat tricks, i think it deserves a writing or directing award, Legacy created a whole new world.
Besides, just look at the bleedin' light ribbons!! And the derezzing. If Twilight is considered to have better visuals than Tron Legacy, then that's an insult to the film industry. Man I wouldn't put anything past the academy after they gave the best documentary award to al "manbearpig" gore.

Inception is my opinion too. When it was released I was VERY sceptical that Hollywood could do something refreshing, but they did. I bought the DVD but haven't even felt the need to watch it again yet. It lacks enchantment.
But I'm not into awards. It's all opinion. Just because a film wins an award, doesn't mean it IS better than the others in the same category. Twilight aren't even proper films, they shouldn't be granted entry into the same level as other films. Just... Eurgh.

I felt that way about the original Tron movie. But, not this one. I think there were a lot of great designs, but most of it was lost in the black on white on glass on black on black. Oh, and did I mention black.
The original was full of color. This one was not. Anyone who has seen modern shiny 3D art in places like 3Dtotal, will find it maybe a bit too familiar looking. Like those shiny car commercials with the black or gray background. Original, yes. But, not as breakthrough and unique as the original Tron and Tron 2.0.

I'm wondering if it has the possibility of being up for any other awards, Does it have a chance at:
Best Art Direction
Best Costume Design
Best Score
Best Sound Design or Editing?
I would think it would be deserving of any of those.

Not sure if it is nominated for anything else but Visual Effects right now but I would hope it at least gets a nom for Best Costume Design, if not Best Art Direction.
