you have to use the image tags I think...
but they changed the codes here I think.
it used to be html.. now its' that forums code..

There is a spot in your user profile section accessible at the top under the field "profile icon" ^^^ where you put in the URL of the image you want to use for your avatar.

^- This Yes, I wasn't able to look before. But if you simply enter the URL for your image into the Profile Icon field of your profile, that should do it. No [ img ] tags needed.
