Well, you have to remember that the games and the movie take place in different years so the tanks in TRON Evolution are 2 to 3 generations behind the ones in the movie. The toys that came in the nifty Reco case that is in the UK Disney store is supposed to be the model of tank current to the grid represented in TRON Legacy. "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |

Yeh got to see those diecast tanks with the Recognizer set that you can see on page 50 of the "toys in retail stores" thread for TRON legacy. Looks nice, and I am glad those were available there at least. Maybe they will be the vehicles available in wave 3 as well.

Yeah, the new generation tanks for the movie have the double treads groups that is popular in scifi/anime tank design...Kinda like the tank in Halo. I personally don't mind that, its the turret that is making me kinda not like the design. I didn't catch it too well in the movie but the toys show how much difference there is. The triangular extension that connects the actual gun barrel to the turret has been extended into a huge triangular pallete that actually encases most of the gun barrel. It kinda makes for a lopsided sense of asthetic to my eye. What I would have done is taken that section off, put a stylized hexagon shaped turret on the top of the chassis and placed the barrel in the center of one of the hex facets, kinda like how modern tanks are designed. But that is me. "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |
