Okay, bear with me here.
Story-wise, is the laser that digitized Sam, also the same laser that digitized Flynn in Tron 1?
Or is it another one that Flynn modified to fit in his office?
I figure not, because the on in the first movie shot out a beam to digitize, while the one in Tron: Legacy, didn't.
So, this is how it feels to answer my own question... SWEET

I'd is probably a newer version as being the last one he worked on before he disappeared in 1989. Th effects are less jarring and disorienting than the original one. But the sudden change of environment is obviously still confusing as hell as Flynn's son found out for himself.

It's definitely a new one. For instance there isn't 2 stories of pipes and generators and technicians in that basement like they needed in the first movie.
Also The laser still shot out a beam to digitize Sam, we just didn't see it because they chose to show it from his point of view...sort of.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I figured the effect was less jarring as this laser was really designed as a human transporter. After once or twice of flying through the digital rollercoaster, it probably gets old. Kevin was using this thing every day.

It's a new laser. The barrel of the laser in the new film has a glass lens on the front. The barrel of the laser in the first film did not. Not to mention the front of the barrels have different designs entirely.

I don't think the first laser even had the cylinders (which is being frequently mentioned)
However, I have this problem with the cylinder bits: Humans are actually made up of more than just Carbon/Water.
Edward Elric: Water, 35 litres. Carbon, 20kg. Ammonia, 4 litres. Lime, 1.5kg. Phosphorus, 800g. Salt, 250 g. Niter, 100g. Sulfur, 80g. Fluorine, 7.5g. Iron, 5g. Silicon 3g. And fifteen other elements. Those are the elements to make an average adult human body. You can buy these elemental ingredients at the market with the pocket money of a child. Humans are made so cheaply. |

You are right that humans are made up of more than just Carbon and water but those are two elements that are in every cell in the human body let alone every living organism on Earth. It is theorized that the carbon and H2O cylinders were for creating living matter from digital data that only existed on the grid. IE a program could be quantum constructed into a living being. So that would be a means to explain why Quorra could exist as a real flesh and blood human after going through the portal. "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |
