I am so happy that it seems like he really values and embraces the original Tron, and is pushing for not only excellent visual design, but also values telling a strong human story with heart, that shows that Tron Legacy is not a mere "video game movie" as some erroneously claim and dismiss the film as.

Why would it be a video game movie? Wouldn't it have to be based on a video game? From what I understand it's a movie about computers that's a sequel to another movie about computers. Just saying..
On a side note, I find it really sad that there are people who will refuse to see this movie just because it's Disney.

i think because tron is essentially dealing with computers AND games that's why there are those who may view it as a video game movie.
and i agree ppl are idiots for the whole "oh it's disney? pass."
disney makes some if not most of the biggest, best, and most successful films.

Some poorly informed mainstream enterntainment journalists and a sizable portion of young teens are under the simple-minded impression that "Tron" only amounts to "a movie about a videogame", and don't think it's about anything more than that.
Just like there are idiots that mistakingly believe Tron Legacy is "a Matrix rip off".
