Regarding the 'teaser trailer' and just so I'm sure this is of 'general consensus'...
This is the exact time Kevin Flynn's been missing, right?
I mean, he's been inside the digital world for exactly 20 years, 11 months, 20 days, 16 hours, 22 minutes, 16 seconds and 43 centiseconds, right?
Anyone has a different take on this?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

yepp, thats correct
The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day. I got in. |

Okay, "three's company"...
What about this screen?
I see a cool Solar OS there...

I like hower the lower-right of that screen has little buttons or lights that are like what Dillinger's desk would have.
PS: As for the Encom building photo, isn't that one that we already saw a year or so ago, while they were filming in Vancouver? I know right, the whole thing is reminiscent of dillingers desk. The second I saw that thing I was like "Oh damn! hot."

Mark my words.... I will build me a desk like that before I'm dead and gone. I always thought Dillinger's desk was the coolest ever. |

Good question. You really can't. At least out here, there's no such thing as a microcycle. A quantum of time in a computer is the cycle. It's what all operations are locked to. Technically, a microcycle is a millionth of a cycle. Nothing that we design operates on that scale.
If you knew what the clock speed was on Flynn's system (cycles per second), you could use that to determine how many cycles are in 20 odd years, then multiply that by a million.
In the early '90s, I worked on a Sun SparcStation with a 40Mhz RISC processor. That was fairly speedy then. Unless Flynn were to pop out every now and then and upgrade his hardware, or get someone to do it for him, he's existing in a really antiquated system.
I doubt that will be explained in the movie as it's irrelevant to the story, as is the nature of the system he's running on (is it really just a standard system of off the shelf parts, or is it some weird quantum photonic memory thingamabob?) but I'd be curious to know, nonetheless.

Those two systems look like what used to be called Mini Computers. Kind of a cross between a workstation and a mainframe. Nick,

Actually, microcycles are automatons that form signals - microcommands.

Hmm, funky variable clock generator there. I looked in a bunch of online computer dictionaries, and I can't find an actual definition of a microcycle. I took it to literally mean a millionth of a clock tick, but the little bit of literature I saw seems to roughly equate a microcycle to a clock tick, but not exactly.
Anyone here qualified enough to give a precise definition?order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Aparrently not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip-flop_%28electronics%29Used for:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Processor_register"Registers are normally measured by the number of bits they can hold, for example, an "8-bit register" or a "32-bit register". Registers are now usually implemented as a register file, but they have also been implemented using individual flip-flops, high speed core memory, thin film memory, and other ways in various machines"

IMO, Billy is asking what the bit-rate of the "digital realm" is in "local time" - from the light speed multi-dimensional infinite hyperplane spacetime vector space inside - to our present local time. |

Actually, I always that was just System up time. If we follow some of the mythology of this story, Flynn has been "seen" several times since his disappearence, meaning perhaps that he has been "in" and "out" several times.
