Prepare for a wall of text.
I like to watch Anime every once in a while, but the past three years every series I've seen pop up on TV is either an already milked series or an unoriginal story(or rippoff) already found in some other Japanese animated show/film/comic.
What's worse for those of us that have T.V. coming from the U.S.A., the channels that do show anime tends to only translate the same fruity genre and style over and over again. I'd like to see the networks import a show or movie that doesn't have the big eye, wide mouthed, and flat style(not to mention story). Something that is actually different looking and has a complete storyline would be a great refreshment. Even one of my friends that's Japanese (she teaches English to Japanese students) hates anime because of the over milked style. I'd just wish networks would show something different.
One more thing I would like to rant on about. It really gets my nerves when my friends ask me to draw them anything anima styled. When ever they see artists working they have to tweak out and ask people to draw in anima style. Also, I hate it when people in art classes copy images from an anime series, say it's orginal/completly their own, and post it as their gallery display.
Every student show, 70% of all the work shown is a copy of an image from an anime show I've already seen.
On an average(every show): six inuashas, four sailor moons, three dragon ball z's, two narutos, one gundum, plus an assortmant of other anime I've seen before. Each from a different student. The other 30% is from the elderly students(retirees) and pottery. Don't get me wrong though. I've seen elderly students copy anime too.
