So I am sitting in my office on lunch, looking for a TRON 2.0 video for wwwmwww when things start to move around me.
We just had a pretty good sized rolling earthquake go through here.
5.8.
Based 30 miles from where I am sitting.
Haven't felt a good strong one in a while, and I have to admit my knees are a bit rubbery right now.

Maybe you should go easy on those TRON 2.0 videos. Sounds to me like they're stirring things up. We all know TRON is "groundbreaking" entertainment, but I guess it's really ground BREAKING in more way than one.

Glad that it didn't get ya...  I only felt one here in the mid-west over the spring.. first one that I ever felt in my life..
I like our tornadoes better. They are cool to look at... Every time the news comes on and tells us to get our asses in the basement, we all rush outside to see if we can take a look at it... lol...
It's not that we were born stupid... it's just that we have nothing better to do..

To my knowledge, nothing bad happened anywhere other than the shaking and rolling.

omg, the quake was so awesome. I was sitting at my moms office grading some tests (done by my mom's employees) and there's this jolt which sends the papers and pen I'm working with straight onto the floor. So I'm sitting there and people are getting kinda panicky cause it was lasting more than 2 seconds like the tremors usually do here. I was just sittin back cause I thought it was a 2.0 or a 3.0 but then I find out it's a friggin 5.8?!?! Someone could've been hurt! All in all, tho, I conclude this day with a higher understanding of my mortality (sort of).
Glad to here everyone is okay.

I was in an earthquake once, in Illinois of all places! Ground shook a little, and I heard a noise not unlike thunder. Lasted only a minute or two.

We had an earthquake about 4 years ago in Lake Ontario. There have only been a handful of them recorded here in the last 100 years.
When it happened, some people said they noticed it, but I didn't. It was extremely mild, at any rate. I think the strongest on record was a 3.5 on the richter scale.
The most dangerous thing that ever happened around where I live, was a tornado that touched down only a couple of blocks away from where I lived when I was a kid. (It happened while I was living there.)

A couple of years ago, we had an earthquake near Fort Myers, but I didn't feel it. Glad to hear you're alright guys. 
I found out that they were taping a Judge Judy episode when the earthquake hit. Here's the video:
