I've only ever played the original Metal Gear for NES. So much Engrish:

Think of it, the worst case scenario for this movie is they just record someone playing a perfect run through the game.

Thats if Psyco Mantis even has paranormal powers. Hollywood has a way of stamping out spiritual and paranormal things that they find too unbelieveable in a JAP to USA adaptation which is a shame really.

I swear to god I'm the only one who likes MGS:TTS :P
Everyone complains about the game being too over the top but I'm like "It's not just MGS:TTS that does it. Snake does crazy dodging stuff in MGS(psx) too, shut up!"

Hey I love MGS:TTS and its not OTT. The graphics are cool and the gameplay was great. I loved playing the original MGS game from a whole new perspective. It just shows people that a remake with the same old story can sell well. But I think what ppl are getting at is the whole gritty graphics from the original helped with the whole dark storyline. Its probably why in MGS3 they went back to that whole gritty dirty look.

I don't understand the whole gritty graphics thing.
It was the PLAYSTATION. Polygons = gritty? O_o

Indeed.
Although, there was a recent interview (or guest blog?) with David Hayter-- he said that the movie stalled thanks to the failed negotiations with Sony. 
So, I suppose it's not going to come out any time soon.
