I went to watch my brother's band perform at a pub in Retford last night, so I took my camera along and filmed it. At the back of the pub was a cocktail table arcade cabinet. It wasn't an original - it was a replica with four games on it - Galaxian, 1942, Pac-Man and Space Invaders - but they were still really faithful reproductions. The machine was charging £1 (~$2) for two games! Anyway, I played a game of Space Invaders and a game of Pac-Man on my own (the second time I've ever played Invaders on an arcade cabinet), and sucked at both (I didn't get past the first level on either ). Then after the gig me and the band's singer, Brad, played Invaders 2-player. Again, neither of us got past the first level, but he ended up with the higher score.
