Ok for starters, I haven't tried dvix's movie maker, so what you need to do is the following:
Look in the settings for making HD. If you see the acronym AVC that is the compression you want for your mp4.
Youtube states that all HD videos will be played at 25 fps. Until they have better service, we have to work around that.
So you have two options, use HD AVC if Dvix has that setting - but record the original video at 25 fps like I said.
Always crank up the tools for quality, ect. You should look at youtube for the HD sizes they like, but from what I read nobody downsizes.
If you are using a downsizer manually...(file size issue) it may be a bit more complicated. (for instance quantizer should be at min. 16/max. 32 is what I've tried) you can turn down the data rate down to 3000 - 3400. but deinterlace maybe even using two methods(one at a time) for a final result - the vplayer blows up to fullscreen and looks nearly flawless. (thus - the term lossless comression in the industry)
Sorry if it's a little confusing but that should help you with the technique..
That should be the final result. HD AVC full size 25fps, and no problems.
If you use another encoder, or it's a complex one,(I know I'm not exact w/ the tekkie infos) you need to read a little bit on wikipedia, cross reference HD with the exact tool in google, and try it until it looks good to you.
Or you can record it in 30 fps to whatever - make it a .mp4 - AVC, you could try leaving it HD but then see if you can manually enter the size (reduce the size) of the video: 4:3 320 x 240 the requirements by youtube for 30 fps video content. They upsize it too, that's why you want to make the original then compress it doing the manual method, if you don't see the settings for this procedure.
Some of the new video creation software has a youtube preset in making the videos, dunno if it works tho hehe.
But in downsizing you won't have jittery looking videos and they play normal but at 30 fps. The important thing is the compression method, I use AVC because I don't like the .h264 converters I've tried so far - mplayer, and every other one so far. I will say this, Mplayer is the most awesome looking video player I've seen to date. Videos just pop out of the screen to me w/ that.
Maybe Youtube will get with it and allow 30 fps HD, but don't count on it.
So what I use is dailymotion. create an account, then when you upload your HD - AVC 30 fps vids, check the "motionmaker" box off, and they will review your video to see if you're not infringing on copyright. in a few days you will be hosting the content you wanted to in the first place.
Vimeo states they are going to add this soon(months ago). so maybe my videos won't look so bad on there heh..
Qix77 Wrote:I've been having codec problems lately (my computer hates me) but I'll see if I can use your advice. |
My advice is to uninstall them, whatever you have for players/codecs/encoders ect. Then reinstall them, check to see if the problem goes away with one, if so keep doing that. It should be back to normal.. I've had the same problems, it's crazy. It seems like something doesn't get fully installed and windows is like "FUHDERDER I can't play videos anymore."
I do own Dvix software.... What are your thoughts on Dvix? |
I used it for encoding video but I wasn't nearly as educated as I've gotten with video then. My best answer is that I know some people really like the compression and quality. But it seems like another language until you find someone who knows how to directly type/speak to you about it in english. Maybe the purchased version has a simple GUI, I hope so. (time consuming)
I'd be interested in learning how to use it better if its cheaper than spending 100 - 250 bucks for the next guy.
