Hi guys I've just joined the forum and this is my first post.
I was watching the movie Tron the other night and in the scene when they go to Flynn's place I was pausing the disc to check out all the classic arcade games etc when I noticed that amazing red Recognizer neon in the background, how cool is that, I want one!
Does anybody have a picture of that neon?
I wonder if I could make one out of EL wire or tape.

Welcome to the site! I'm glad you found the place for TRON!
I think somebodies got photos of the original sign in storage around here some place. If not you could take a screencapture from the DVD.
Without a doubt I bet you could make an El-Wire one. a real neon one would be amazing also.

Photos of the real sign would be great, I'm not sure if a screen capture would give me the detail required to try and replicate one of these.

Like you said a real neon would be awesome but I'm sure something like that would be quite expensive.

I used the search feature and came up with thread:

That's not the Recognizer Neon sign, it's the big "FLYNN'S" sign that hangs above the doorway. But it's still a really, really cool image!

I don't know that anyone still owns those last two... or if they are still in existence. Dave would be our best source for that, but he doesn't come here anymore. Maybe Alan1 knows.

Cool, I don't think I ever noticed the 2nd one shown there. In the commentary of Tron, they briefly mention the 3rd one... but none of them knows where it is. I think DaveTRON once mentioned he doesn't know where the neon Recognizer is in this world.
