So, the Lion King is touring and hit my city. My wife and I went to see it last night. I thought the first half was aimed at a MUCH younger audience (first and second graders) and I did not like the performances from the kids in the cast (Broadway may have been different).
The second act was much better as more adult themes became present (revenge, love, etc.) The adult actors for Simba and Nala were much better, of course, and very accomplished performers.
So basically the second act saved me from having a feeling that I just attended a "Dora The Explorer On Ice" show. Good, because the tickets were expen$ive.
I'm interested to see what other people thought.

About half of our year went on a school trip to see it in London.
I agree with what you're saying about the first half being aimed at younger kids. That was annoying, but the second half was a lot less so. The actor who played Scar (at least over here in England) I thought was particularly good, and I was astounded by all the effects they achieved with simple puppetry and costuming.
