Yay Pirates Of The Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest is coming out tommorow and so is the newly refurbished Pirates ride in DLR and WDW.Not only that but i'm going to see it tommorow

Man...I hope it doesn't suck. The first one was a pleasent suprize...and my dad and I saw it, like, three times in the theater. lol

Umm...I haven't seen the reviews...but it's a sequel...and I never seem to like sequels.

I just got back from seeing it. HOLY FEAKIN' JOLLY ROGERS AND SHIVER ME FREAKIN' TIMBERS! IT ROCKED THE SEVEN FREAKIN' SEAS!
It is an imortal sin not to see this film.

The theater he was packed. I drove to the theater near me to checkout the movie times and there was already a line outside, so I by accident arrived perfectly, so I joined in the line and saw the film.

Ooooh wow. I got to see the movie TWICE IN A ROW! It was SOOO awesome! The bad guys were sweet, and the sea monster RULED! Jack was THE COOLEST!!!! AND THERE'S GONNA BE A PART 3 NEXT YEAR!!! WOOO!!!

I wish they'd stop showing the $-amount a movie grossed as the basis for whether or not it did better than any predecessor. Things get in the way of making it a valid number, like inflation and how movie ticket prices keep going up like its gasoline.
'Number of tickets sold' would be a more accurate assessment, in my opinion.
Ticket prices are at least $1.50-$2.00 more expensive than they were in Spiderman days. In my preliminary calculations (unofficial), this means Pirates 2 didn't sell any more tickets than did Spiderman; and Spiderman actually probably sold more.

I'm with you 100% Traahn... The movie was worth seeing, but it wasn't nearly what I was expecting. Honestly Depp's character seemed a bit tired, for lack of a better way of putting it. The 15 minute water-wheel scene also was a bit much after a while as well.
I'll definitely see the third movie, but I won't bother on opening weekend that's for sure.

I saw it at the midnight showing. Now, midnight showings are all a bit exciting, so even if the movie is bad, it isn't.
Anyway. I had a splendid time and thought the movie was everything I had wanted. The ending was....O_O.

I finally got around to seeing it. I agree with what has already been posted. It was too long, and some scenes, like the aforementioned water wheel scene could have easily been cut. It didn't have the spark of the first movie, for sure, and the story seemed a bit disjointed and somewhat convoluted. The second film also lacked the humor of the first and was MUCH more violent than the first.
On the plus side the special effects were fantastic, especially the sea-people. The Kraken was also just absolutely brilliant. The cinematography was also better in this one taking you to more environs than the first one.
So all in all visually stunning, lacking in character. It could be America's Next Top Model!
