LOTR

on Tuesday, May, 30, 2006 11:14 AM
This weekeknd, I did something I've been meaning to do for ages. I watched all three Lord of the Rings films in order.

I had never seen them in their entirety before. Parts, but never a full film.

So I watched, and watched, and watched, and 9 hours later, I am a HUGE fan of these amazing films.

I never read the books. I have never liked medieval type fantasy stories much. I probably still won't read the books at this point, but these three films just leapt way up onto my Top films list.

Amazing work by Peter Jackson, and the world just felt so lived in. I kept finding myself trasfixed by some small thing in the film and then these huge environments.

It was truly an amazing experieince.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I haven't found the time to take 12 hours out of my life and watch the 3 extended editions back to back.

I've wanted to do this for the Star Wars films as well, watching from Episode I to Episode VI back to back. Again its tough to find 12 hours to do that.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Yeah, SW is another one I'd like to do. Straight on though. Too bad it ends with Ewoks though.

So the extended LOTR adds 3 more hours to the mix? Holy god that's a long day. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

No popcorn, can't stand the stuff. However, a bottle of Coke, my L-Z-Boy recliner and a quiet home office on a Sunday afternoon make for good viewing.

My guitar teacher (A LOTR geek...pretty much has a house filled with LOTR and MST3K...what a mix of craziness) and I tried to force my dad into watching all the extended versions in order. He ended up falling asleep close to the end of EVERY SINGLE ONE.

I guess that LOTR's just not his thing.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Just as a warning - Don't! Before you know it, you'll be ankle deep in description and stuff not entirely important to the story in the first three pages. My sister who normally likes fantasy had lots of trouble and put the book down after the first ten pages. You're not going to want to do that unless you want your brain to turn to the consistancy of mashed potatoes... or jello. You might want to just stick to the movies. ^^;;

What's the best part of the popcorn?

The Kernel.

Heh heh heh.

Everything's spiffy, aside from my drawing itch that is driving me freakin' insane right now. *twitches* Just got this one week left in book arts... then a well earned summer break where I can relax and let all these ideas in my head spill out on paper.

I did have trouble reading the books as well. Even though I'm a bookworm, it's just that the book is very descriptive and very heavy on the words so I struggled to get through all of it.

(Got better when I got used to the writing style... x_X)

As for watching stuff back to back... I haven't done that for a very long time. Wow. I should buy more movies so I can do that.

I watch the 3 extended ones from time to time... Whenever my wife and I get into one of our LOTR moods... lol

You want difficult reading? Forget LOTR, go get his FIRST book in the series... No, not the Hobbit, "The Silmilarion" (sp?)

It's written as a historical book about the beginnings of Middle Earth, the elves, etc... I eventually read through the whole thing, (which was actually cool, because it gives a LOT of backstory to what happens in LOTR, and even shows some parallels to the characters with historical heroes), but it took a LONG time...

The day before ROTK was released over here in the UK, I heard that a cinema in Town (it was the Odeon West End, a nice theatre) had secretly got hold of the extended version prints of the film and were going to screen them back to back.

So my cousin and I got tickets, it started early evening and ended at 2-3 am. We had already bought our tix for ROTK the following day and wathced it more or less as soon as we got up the following day.

In the weeks that followed, the IMAX in London announced that it would screen all three of the LOTR movies back to back in the theatre .. I was seriously overdosing on Peter Jackson's LOTR !!

But I love the films. I have read the trilogy, but i admit its hard work, the silmarillion is on my currently working through list.

Wacthed 'The Frighteners' by Peter Jackson last week, incidentally the movie before he took up the LOTR project, and he explains at the beginning of the film how it was pivotal in him taking on the project. I love DVD's

I don't think I could ever do that! Usually, long movies just give me headaches afert a while... and I'm not straining my eyes or anything. (I have perfect eyesight, BTW) It just happens! ^^; So I don't think I could ever sit back and watch all the LOTR movies back to back like that....
