Tron RPG

on Sunday, May, 28, 2006 7:00 AM
Okay seeing as Kamui is blaming me for her project I am going to blame her for mine. A few years ago I posted a message stating I was going to make a forum based Tron RPG for all the Gang here to have something to do. Kamui and some other posts have kinda gotten me interested in doing it again.

The Style would be something like one of my other RPGs which unfortunetly didnt work out because of personal reasons but it would work something similar to this:

http://www.vegeta.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Transformers

Now when I was designing Tron I wanted it to be a group thing, where players can actually enhance the game with ideas and personal quests for their programs. As well as rules or changes to rules which they think are unfair and need reworking or just wanna make the game better.

The Structure of the gamers would be:

Me (Master GM)

5 other games masters who each will have there own areas to cover but get together to decide on if things are fair, if changes should be made kinda like a GM commitie.

Then the players.

However unlike pervious RPGs where i had this system I have decided to allow the players to VOTE for who is on the GM commitie. This would take place when ever a player felt that the commitie wasnt doing a good job.

Anyway down to the game itself.

The game would have the two worlds in it.

Real world.
Digital World.

All players have a user and a program. Most of the time in the Digital world you will be playing out your program. But it would be possible for your user to be digitized.

The finer details I have not worked out yet but this is my idea. Basically I wanna know if you guys think its worth doing or not. Let me know.

Any questions you can post here or email me

It's worth noting that we tried doing a forum RPG once before. It was, however of sort of a different style, with not quite as much structuring as this would have. (as based off of looking at your link there)

I would be very interested in doing another Tron RPG, however. I mean, Tron is very ripe for that kind of thing, as long as people can have some creativity with the universe.

Which time period is this taking place in? (Original movie, 2.0, or in between?)

Well, if we're going to include diigtization it would have to be around Tron 2.0, as Flynn was the only one digitized during the MCP's reign, and scince then, Ma3a's been the only program capeable of digitizing/undigitizing, which would require a circa-2.0 time. I would personally recommend not to long prior to 2.0, then if we wanted to, we could have a global event like Thorne's corruption showing up or something like that.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I think there should be an upgraded and multiplied MCP type thing. Only instead of the MCP, you should call it, um... The MP3! Yeah! Master Program 3! Then there's, um, the SMP (Super Master Program) and the SCP (Shadow Control Program (Yehehe)).abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I was going to base it a year of two after Tron 2.0 Encom is no longer considering selling out infact after the Fcon desaster I was going to have it that Encom bought Fcon out.

But I am all about change like I said before seeing as gamers would be USERS I am totally up for players adding to the Tron RPG universe. Like they could have there own section in the forum which could be there own personal computer where they run the game. And we can all do nasty things as well

For instance say I had a laptop pluged into the Encom system and all of a sudden I get a message saying "Kamui.EXE has been downloaded into C:\Windows"

Kamui could have been sent to look for some information that her user could use against me in some form of black mail or she might be after some uncomplied code to enahnce Kamui. Or she might just wanna derez everything on my laptop including my program character. The limits are almost endless.

But I am all for a dynamic RPG so if you guys think its worth it I'll get a start and draft up some rules if you can think of some cool extra features for it or some rules you think might work well then by all means go for it.

The rules will work similar for the Transformers RPG because they eliminate the need for dice which stop cheating.

well, i'm up for it. having seen some of the ideas for this RPG it sounds very promising, and i want to be a part of it.

i think it should be set after Tron 2.0 because then it's all open to imagination, and players can call upon the best of both the game and the film.

but yeah, sounds cool. where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Cool idea. But I think that since some of us still can't seem to get a hold of the comic (I definately can't! It's no where in my city at all and I really hate ordering stuff from online because when I get it, the ordered items are usually damaged by transport or stolen from me. I have the WORST luck when it comes to stuff like this. So... *Whines* ) You're going to have to set this up to be spoiler free or something. ^^;;

dont worry it will be 100% spoiler free. I tend to set my RPGs in alternate realities so I have complete freedom in making things up. Plus it covers my backside if I make a mistake when referencing back to something lol.

But no this will be completely seperate from the comics because I know were all from different countries and we all get the comics at different times. I wanted a spoiler free game, by all means you can use ideas from the comics but DO NOT state where you got the idea from or even hint at it because its no fun for others as I am sure everyone knows already.

Little update with Users and programs.

There will be different types of programs so far I have:

Anti-Virus/spyware: You could say Tron was this type of program

Virus: Not always a Z-lot this is a normal program who has been written to disrupt and destroy the system by any means.

ICP: Enough said

Civilian: This is your average every day program.

Advantages of each program

Anti-virus: This independant program is designed for combat so it will come with a standard disc weapon and a higher combat rating.

Virus: Much like the Anti-virus program but this program will have extra abilities. It will be able to pass off as a normal system program and fool the OS preventing it from alerting the ICPs

ICPs: The advnatage to the ICP program is that you have a higher stating hp and defense rating than other programs however as an ICP you MUST obay your commander or face imediate derezolution

Civilian: The advantage to the Civilian program is that you know the system like the back of your hand, you know where those energy pools are you know the secret ways in and out of the system. Basically a Civilian program is able to sneak in and out of everywhere. Low combat rating at first but high INT rating

Now because programs are just code and can be added too. They do not have to stay that way forever, users can alter the program and enhance the script to make it better or even change its type completely. By doing this programs end up with 2 classes example:

Kamui.EXE is created to be a anti-virus program at first but then her user decides that they want to hack into a locked server in Encom. She updates Kamui.EXE into a Anti-virus/Virus program, now Kamui.EXE has the benifits of the anti-virus program AND the Virus program.

To make this fair Kamui.EXE will be a natual Anti-virus program meaning she levels up as usual but her Virus class isnt so it takes twice as much exp to level up her virus skills.

so, can i kep my character backstory from previous incarnations of a tron RPG?

i.e, an ICP who disobeyed inhumane orders to derezz an infant program, then takes said infant program under his wing, then realises that while [foolishly] leaving the infant program, the Kernel has her derezzed. then he derezzes the kernel's [i suppose the correct term would be sub-program]. and is now a wanted criminal.

so technically an ICP Civilian? is that possible?

Oooh! I could make only minor little adjustments to mine (If Kevin Flynn isn't dead in the game...I could just totaly get rid of that part in my character background.) but I wanna be able to use my background a little too.

(Short version) Tori Flynn is Kevin's younger sister. After he died, she got into what some people would call "A bad crowd" which concisted of a bunch of hackers. Only one of them ever befriended her(Draven), but later he took advantage of her...and for some reason they're still friends.

Somehow she found her way into the digital world after discovering the MCP. She had adventures...made friends with and RAM and a program named Photoshop...Defeated the MCP...went back to the real world...realized that she liked it better living in the digital world...and here we are. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Prankster bit, that is completely possible yes. However seeing as you will be wanted you will have to watch yourself seeing as the OS of the system will probably alert the ICPs if you hang around in one area too much.

As for Clu I would say he was kinda spyware/Hacker software. He wasnt spying on the system he was hacking into it. So I would say Hacking software which would be similar to the Virus program but with a few different things to it.

Tori, I was gonna have it so Flynns location was still unknown you could use that instead of him being dead, your search for him makes Tori fall into that bad crowd and became a hacker. All players do not have to work for Encom but there is nothing stopping you hacking into it to see where he went. As for being digitized into the computer well that wont have happened yet but it could happen for instance:

Tori hacks into Encom finds emails from Flynn to a programmer called Alan who talks about his experiances inside the computer and a hot headded Tori assumes that this is where he went and still is so you force Alan to digitize you into the computer.

But like I said all user characters wont be inside the computer however it CAN happen and for some of you WILL happen.
