So on top of my Dedit work for TRON 2.0 I've been practicing my 3D Studio Max. Which in turn will help Dedit work eventually.
Anyways here's some demo stuff:

He used 3s Studio Max for this one. A good program to do that. I think there are several out there like 3d studio max out there. But expensive like crazy. Maya Unlimited, and one other that I cannot think of which is modeling as well are expensive to use.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I like what you've done so far! I take it that they are your own models, in which case, damn good work! Only two things I noticed - the Recognizer in the first video casts shadows on itself but not on the ground. Why's that?
And in the second video, the way the camera spins around while under the Recognizer is a little weird. You could either try doing it over more frames, or happen unnoticably in just one frame.
Still, good videos, and I'm interested to see more stuff from you, zook_one!order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

I built the models in Form Z and Imported them into Studio Max. Theres a Bug in both models that I need to fix, ones from the export Triangulation and one from poor modeing that I need fix. I did all the glowing Redlines by spliting up planes into multiple objects, not by rendering wireframes
The first shot the material style for the ground plane had 100 self luminance so it wasn't receiving shadows. I fixed that for the second one.

yah, I like that shot. If I do something more with that shot I 'll get in there with Adobe Premiere of After Effects and cut out the couple schizo frames when the camera flips
I'm working towards producing a little short. But mostly the models are for Dedit Worlds for Tron 2.0

Holy crap. 3D Studio Max is like $3,500. I wish I could afford something like that.

Hey - looks cool, zook_one - nice work!
The 2nd video looks a little vertically elongated/stretched, but still cool.
Nice job on the models as well.
EDIT: Oops - I just read that your 2nd one was squashed because of letterbox. That would do it!

No problem - just skip a few car payments and hold off on the mortgage for a while. You'll have ALL sorts of spare cash!
Of course, there's a down side to that...
You know - I sometimes think about all the money I'd have if I didn't have to pay bills. Remember when you lived with mom and dad and any money you made was pretty much your own? Ahh - those were the days!

Believe it or not I found my copy of 3.1 unused with the manuals and dongle key last year at the local swap meet in a pile of used books and junk. I think I paid $25.
You can always buy the student version, if you're a student. just sign up for a 3D class at the community college...
If you can find old copies of stuff they're sometimes better, more plug-ins and stuff available.

Nice... I even like how you posted the videos. Can someone explain to me how the "embed" HTML code/flag works. I'm assuming the "url" and "img" flags are HTML flags. I don't know enough HTML to even be sure of that.

Carl,
Myspace videos creates the embed code for you which is nice. I think photobucket does also but Myspace lets you have 100mb movies. Crazy huh? These are only like 7-10mb.
anyhoo heres the code it pretty easy to follow. The first part notes the media player to be used and theres a bit of text mixed in for the html subtitles and link: Note:I've reversed all the less then greater than symbols so the code shows here....

Very nice!! One thing I would note though, is your recognizer's legs seem to be a bit too long...
For those interested in learning 3d like this, I HIGHLY recommend a program called Blender... www.blender.orgIt can do almost everything Max can, but Blender is a much better price.... FREEWARE....
