Kamui.EXE is INSPIRED

on Wednesday, February, 08, 2006 9:37 AM
Okay, since I saw the first interactive Flash posted here, I had to try and make oen of my own because it was so cool (I hope you don't mind, Boingo_Buzzard. It was just so cool! ) So anyways, here's the link to mind (Only I used a recognizer over a Tank and you have some Pylons that you can toss out and race around ^^) :

So yeah, anyways, whoever guesses the games where I got the two songs (The one in the main game and in the preloader) gets a cookie. (Hint: They're from two particular Korean made MMORPGs)

That's cool, I like the music and the pop up menus. I am having a little trouble understanding the game though. The Reco seems to only move right and left and I am not sure how the pieces on the left are supposed to interact with the reco.

It also moves top to bottom. I think something weird is happening to the browser, actually. Try it in Firefox. It seems to work better in there over IE. ^^; To that, I have no clue why. As for the pieces, you just toss them out on to the grid and race around them just for kicks. I'm not sure if that helps in explaining what it does.

Well... the FF browser window resizes to fit the game automatically. IE doesn't do that (Not to slam IE because I always use it. On occasion, I jump to FF.... like now) So you need IE to resize to fit the game, I think.

But yeah, I haven't been doing Actioscript for very long so right now, I'm just experimenting with it. So maybe I will come out with a v1.1 where the pylons do stuff if you hit them. ^^

Looks pretty cool . . . but when I went to try it, clicking on the Start Here button did nothing. I tried it several times, but nope. No luck. I was able to drag and drop the pylons and read the instructions just fine, though.

I'm using IE and the latest version of Flash ( version 8 ).

Just use the arrows and move around.

Actually, first drag the cones and obstacles to where you want them, then just use the arrows to move around.

It works better if you save the swf file to your hard drive and open it in another IE window - that way the arrows won't cause the web page to scroll up and down while you're playing. on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Well, I have no idea which MMORPGs the audio came from so I'll just guess. Is it Magma Moma Melting Mayhem? I hear that is really popular over in Korea. And if not, it sounded good as I made it up just now.

That was a neat TRON exercise in flash. It would be really cool if you could add some interactivity to it - perhaps something that chases after the reco, or some collision detection for the obstacles. Keep playing with it and see what you come up with. For whatever it's worth - both you and Boingo_Buzzard are already going circles around me. I don't know the first thing about authoring in flash.

D'oh!

And here I thought it was a button to start the game . . . I wonder if anyone else will make the same mistake? Heh.

Yeah, good idea. The page does scroll, making it impossible to play unless you open it in a separate window.

I'm usually pretty good with this "figuring stuff out" thing. Maybe I'm slowing down? Nah, I had a bad day . . . that's it! A little out of the zone today.

Nope! I'm looking at two different MMORPGs here. ^^

I have no idea how collision detection works yet but I'll eventually figure it out sometime. or getting working enemies for that matter. It took me months to get this far and now that I have a significantly better teacher, I'm learning a lot more at a faster rate. Anyways, since I do see him today, maybe I'll ask him a little bit on it. ^^
