First off, this is my first post on this board. Hello!
I have been/am a fan of Tron for many years.
But the reason that I decided to post on this board is because of this thread! Last weekend, I ran across these dvd's in the toys section of my local Wal-Mart. I picked up the following three titles: Protectors of Universe, Defenders of Space, and Space Thunder Kids. There was a third Anime dvd there, Princess and Warrior, but I didn't pick it up.
The dvd's say they are produced by Digiview (I've checked their websight and they do not feature these movies).
I have only watched a portion of Protectors of Universe. Obviously, it is a rip off of an old 1970's Giant Robot Anime. The sound is horrific!
I was curious about which anime these movies had cannibalized but a google search brought up next to nothing, except this http://amr.nextstudio.net/html/protectors_otu.html
My question is . . . . can we still find vhs or dvd copies of all of "Savior of the Earth"???order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Veritech,
First off, welcome! Nice to have you here.
Second, I don't think anyone here has the whole movie, and I believe it is out of print. If someone was able to get it on VHS, I can convert it to DVD for those interested.

Well, I can tell you that I fast-forwarded through most of "Space Thunder Kids" to see the Tron rip-off portion. Its almost like whoever was editing together these cartoons wasn't even trying! There is no story continuity and you can obviously tell where the slipshod edits between cartoons were made. Plus, the re-dubbing is laughable at best.
Actually, I would only reccommend these dvd's if you want a good laugh.

Sometimes it's good to watch movies that are pure crap, I guess.
You can MST it if you're with other people... that's always fun!
But, this cartoon sounds too terrible, even if you were to MST it. That's just terrible.
Do they have the rights to use that imagry? If not, does anyone know if the creators have gotten sued at all for it??
Oh, and also, I looked at that article thingy... I had forgotten that Freakazoid was a digital hero. That used to be my favorite show when I was little. That, and Animaniacs, and Rocko's Modern Life...heheh..

Sorry, I haven't sent the dvds out yet, i live in south florida and we've been a bit...... busy, recently. but i will. i bought them, and the envelops. plus stamps the total is about 3 bucks.
those movies are all from a company called IFD films and arts limited, a hong kong based company.
http://www.ifd.com.hk/DEFAULT1.HTM
they release all three of those movies, plus "beauty and warrior" and they also release that savior of the earth tron rip off movie. but i don't know if they still sell it.
I watched protectors of universe, and to be honest it wasn't too bad. it reminds you of cheezy 80's anime. it is laughably bad, but it has a camp value.
STK, is bad, very bad. i'm surprised though the story is as coherent as it is (take from that what you will)where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I found it at my local Walmart and got it. I know I asked you for one, but never heard back from you about where to send you money or anything. I can compensate you for the one you picked up for me if you'd like (Do you take Paypal?)
I hope everything is going OK for you down there in Fla.
Anyway, you're right, this was pretty bad, but luckily it's laughably bad so retains some entertainment value. It is amazing how they stitched together several different anime movies and not even cleaned up the film quality at all.
The Tron sequences are pretty funny. 100% total rip off. I liked the scene where the woman in some kind of fake British accent shows up on the screen and says "I don't know who you are or what you're doing but you must die" or something to that effect. Reminded me of the scene in Thumb Wars where the Princess Leia character says "I escaped somehow! Let's go!"
Anyway... for a $1 it's worth it.

It's quite strange that you'd have a bunch of anime  grafted together like that. It makes me question how legal this is. So I doubt that this is at all a rare item but maybe a pirated item. It's a possiblity. ^^;;

Yeah, plus the fact that they're selling them for $1. It does kinda make you wonder. I have images of this seedy little back room somewhere with some mangy looking dude burning DVD's that he spliced together on his PC.
Odd that these pieces of junk would show up in the toy dept. Are they hoping people will just need something... ANYTHING to entertain their kids for an hour so some cheap non-sensical DVD would be just the trick?
*tsk tsk*

Yup. Back for a bit with a lot of stuff that's happened in that period of time (And some stuff is also comming up too like the fact that my 20th birthday is just a week away. ^_~) But yeah, I'm back and I have a few projects running right now (Game development (Unfortunately nothing Tron themed. The games I'm working on deals with an anime/manga called "Bleach." They're more fan-games.... (Which I'm just going to be putting out for free so others can enjoy the mayhem.)) But all that's best saved for another topic and another time.
Anyways, back to this one. Yeah, there's no doubt in my mind now that it is indeed a pirated copy. Ugh. I'm not sure where I should even remotly begin to explain how illegal it is (Since it is on so many levels). Firstly, the anime I've seen in there and mentioned are LICENCED! To those who frequent the anime community who know some of the horrors this word contains (*Cough4Kidscouch*) or sometimes the not-so-horrors. To those that don't, allow me to explain. This explanation can start with the Fansubbing community (Definition of "Fansub:" When a group of fans translate and put subtitles of a prevoiusly untranslated anime.) When they pick up an anime for fansubbing, it's usually because there is no license for that anime (My best example at the moment is Bleach because there currently is NO LICENSE for that anime.) When there is no license, you can fansub and distribute the anime (Usually for free these days. But it wasn't long ago when they actually forced you to buy the fansubs as well which was a pain.) To fansub, you first must obtain a raw, digitize it (Sometimes the steps are done at the same time. But also if you have a TV tuner card, this can simply be done with a VHS and hooking that up as I have done so in the past.) This as far as I know is legal because of no exsisting liscense (But then again, I could be worng about this. I would have to brush up on that part). Afte this stage, it's translated, subtitled, encoded and so forth and then put up on the web for our consumption (I may have missed a few steps in here or some pieces of info, but hey! I'm lazy! Leave me alone!) But the instant something becomes licensed, the fansub project is dropped because not it is considered in the relms of ILLEGAL. There are only very few times when an anime series is so extremely popular that people will continue to fansub as more episodes come out in Japan (Such is the case with Naruto. You can still find hords of people subbing that or distributing it) Unless this mysterious "No-Name" company has bought the license for it, they can't produce it. The only way you can even remotly get around this if they were unlicensed (and even quite possibly in the Raw format.)
The second thing that's wrong with this picture is that this "butchered" collection of anime is actually being SOLD. So this pretty much means that not one part of that 1$ US is even remotly making it back to the original anime studio or it's creators. Instead, it's all going to the pirates. Now isn't this a pretty sad picture? What makes this even worse is that this product is being sold my a huge franchise (Wal-mart). This would also lead me to the conclusion that they aren't checking for how legal their products are which could (In theory) lead them in to a lot of trouble for selling a pirated product. What's even more interesting is that there's no website for this "No-Name" company either. (However, a pirate with enough skill/knowledge can pull off a fake company website to sell bogus products. So sometimes, you totally don't know) So your pirates could be a few guys in a smoke fill basement passing around cigarettes saying "What anime shall we pirate next? Who can we rip off even more? And where's my Bud Light?" It's really creepy stuff. So then in otherwords, Wal-Mart has just become an outlet for pirated products. (And what I find interesting about this is that a huge franchise is selling this and not a small store in some strip mon line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineorder abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Yeah, bootlegged animation has been rampant for years. The same anime bootleg advertises old 1930's animation like Popeye, Betty Boop, the Superman serials, which was made by Fleischer Studios. Makes me want to puke for those old animations that paved the way for todays animation deserve better treatment in my opinion, but the sad fact is alot of the older studios that made those animations no longer exist, which really affect the rights to a now defunked company's past work. Some animation rights get bought and switched over so many times that the bootlegs are able to remain for there's never enought time for a company to address when the rights keep getting bought and tossed around like a pong square. Fleischer Studios died after it's parent company Paramount fired it's founders Max and Dave Fleischer, since then their animations have been bottlegged countless times even before the VHS days. Right now, from Walmart I have counted 5 different versions of bootlegged Superman dvds, all from different pirate companies. It's sad. There will probally be no end to it.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Hmm... I thought that Warner Bros. got the rights to Superman. I'm wondering if that covers the classic series? (I'd imagine that it would, but correct me if I'm wrong here...)
But then again, it's very easy to pirate these kinds of things very cheaply as I have so proven by me hooking up my VCR to my PC (FYI, I don't do that very often. I only really do that if I had an educational intent behind them like if I needed a movie for a project or if my dad needed one as a teaching aid in one of his classes. Yeah.... doing that for educational purposes is legal along with using it for satires and parodies. If they were anywhere outside of that, it then becomes illegal.) And you're right, it is quite sad. I mean we're so busy cracking down on MP3s right now that we've failed to pay attention to the fact that many pirated goods are making it out on the shelves of major franchise chains like Wal-Mart. There's definately something extremely wrong about this picture!
