I think they should have a subcategory of "near misses" and call them planetoids, of which I think the scientific community and reeducation could find rather acceptable of reassigning the likes of Pluto.

There's been such reinventions before, such as no longer calling them "starfish" but instead now the more scientificly suitable "seastar."

I love correcting folks for that one.
