I am sitting and watching TRON at my desk at work. I get in two hours before everyone else everyday, so I put on music or a movie while I work.
Today I plugged in my Altec Lansing speakers to my PSP and threw TRON in the PSP. What an experieince!
First off, the picture is phenomenal. I am getting the 70mm experieince here on my small screen. I feel like I am seeing it in a theatre with the lights down and no glare. It's beautiful.
Second, the sound. The beautiful, amazing sound! Plugged into a great set of speakers I am experiencing TRON like I haven't in years. for example, has anyone ever noticed how in the sequence when Flynn first sees TRON in action on the training grid that the last guy TROn derezzes starts to say TR.... before he gets his bits blasted? I've seen this movie a zillion times now and never heard that before today. There are tons of little nuances like that that I can hear while I am staring at the report on my screen. It's a beautiful experience.
I highly recommend investing in a PSP if only for this one movie. It's great!on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I concurr. I actually listened to it with headphones on and loved the total immersion of sound that provided. The hum of the recognizers and the little sound bits that get lost normally.
You really do get your bang for the buck with the PSP

man, you make that sound very tempting. Too bad I can't afford one at the moment but we'll see what the future holds. I keep hearing great things about the picture and sound quality.
Is it true that the UMD version of Tron has a wider screen ratio that's more true to the original theatrical release than the anniversary DVD?

Yes and No. If you play the 20th anniversary DVD on your PC the ratio is the same as the PSP. I think regular TV's crop the picture. It's more a failure of the TV than the actual DVD.

You know, on my VHS copy, it always sounded like he was saying "frostbite" ---Don't get too weirded out, that's just exactly what he Seemed to say...
I'd love to pour over the PSP version and try and catch any extra TRON bits of film, since the DVD version (as I understand) is cropped, while the PSP has the true full version.
Isn't it weird? Most people will not have seen the entire tron film until they watch the PSP version!!

What's worse the fact that the 20th Anv. edition is cropped or that the PSP does not have video out to plug into a projection screen?
I wonder if there will be non PSP UMD players? I'm posting here when I could be playing Ogre... Go figure! O_o |

Actually, the DVD is not cropped. It's the TV that crops it. If you play your DVD on the PC it's fine. I'm sure if you have a nice high def widescreen TV it would look ok there too.
However, don't let that deter you from getting a PSP. They RULE!

No deteration here! (is deteration a word?) I've got the PSP and the UMD TRON. I was not contemplating purchase...
And here is a cool bit of info... while I "Ping'd" here at work, one of my co-workers asked if I wanted to watch it on his 60 Inch HD.
so next thursday I'm bringing my 20thA-DVD to his house and with 4-5 other co-workers we're gunna have a Ping-fest and hopefully I can inoculate some new users.
They promised not to make fun of me if I start quoting lines, and I promised not to bring a frisbee or dress up.

I believe the word you were seeking was 'deterioration'? DaveTRON
